00:00:00--> 00:00:02

Allah lets things be based on a wisdom,

00:00:03--> 00:00:05

and he restricts events based on a wisdom.

00:00:05--> 00:00:07

He releases events based on a wisdom.

00:00:08--> 00:00:10

Same like kazza today. 1 of the sisters

00:00:10--> 00:00:12

was asking me on the weekend, our faith

00:00:12--> 00:00:13

is being

00:00:13--> 00:00:14

impacted

00:00:14--> 00:00:16

because Allah is letting this happen.

00:00:17--> 00:00:18

Allah my dear sister.

00:00:19--> 00:00:21

Allah is the one who restricts and he

00:00:21--> 00:00:22

releases.

00:00:22--> 00:00:24

We have to go back to our tuhid,

00:00:24--> 00:00:25

not disassociate

00:00:26--> 00:00:27

ourselves with our tuhid. This shouldn't be a

00:00:27--> 00:00:30

matter that makes our iman become weakened, but

00:00:30--> 00:00:33

rather it should be a matter that strengthens

00:00:33--> 00:00:34

our iman,

00:00:34--> 00:00:35

that these prophecies

00:00:36--> 00:00:37

were taught to us by the prophet sallallahu

00:00:37--> 00:00:39

alaihi wa sallam, and these matters of the

00:00:39--> 00:00:41

end of time were revealed to us in

00:00:41--> 00:00:42

the Quran, and now we're seeing it with

00:00:42--> 00:00:43

the naked eye.

00:01:13--> 00:01:15

May Allah accept from us our deeds thus

00:01:15--> 00:01:15

far.

00:01:16--> 00:01:18

Tonight is the 23rd night.

00:01:18--> 00:01:19

What do you guys think?

00:01:20--> 00:01:22

How's it feeling so far?

00:01:23--> 00:01:24

Like it's the night?

00:01:25--> 00:01:26

What do you guys think?

00:01:27--> 00:01:29

It most likely can be subhanAllah.

00:01:30--> 00:01:31

The 23rd

00:01:33--> 00:01:33

has

00:01:34--> 00:01:37

had attributes to it in the past

00:01:38--> 00:01:40

And it is from the odd nights.

00:01:41--> 00:01:43

And it most definitely could be a little

00:01:43--> 00:01:44

Qadr.

00:01:44--> 00:01:46

So alhamdulillah, Allah has taken us through a

00:01:46--> 00:01:49

lot, alhamdulillah. We've prayed in Jama'ah together.

00:01:50--> 00:01:52

We've raised for a house from his houses

00:01:52--> 00:01:52

together,

00:01:53--> 00:01:53

alhamdulillah.

00:01:54--> 00:01:56

And now we will study from the Quran

00:01:56--> 00:01:58

together. May Allah take us from strength to

00:01:58--> 00:02:00

strength as the night progresses. Ameen.

00:02:01--> 00:02:03

Subhanallah, the Maqan verses

00:02:03--> 00:02:04

and the Maqan

00:02:05--> 00:02:05

chapters,

00:02:07--> 00:02:09

they're a potent dosage, Wallah,

00:02:10--> 00:02:11

when it comes to building ima.

00:02:13--> 00:02:15

For those who followed the recitation today,

00:02:15--> 00:02:17

those who understand the Arabic language,

00:02:18--> 00:02:20

or those who might have read a translation

00:02:21--> 00:02:22

of

00:02:23--> 00:02:25

tonight's Tarawih, the verses of tonight's Tarawih,

00:02:26--> 00:02:28

honestly, you can only deduce that the Makkan

00:02:28--> 00:02:29

verses are

00:02:29--> 00:02:31

indeed a potent

00:02:31--> 00:02:32

dosage

00:02:33--> 00:02:34

when it comes to iman building.

00:02:35--> 00:02:37

And these were the

00:02:37--> 00:02:40

verses that were revealed before hijra. Before hijra,

00:02:40--> 00:02:42

this is a period of building iman,

00:02:43--> 00:02:45

of building the hearts and the minds and

00:02:45--> 00:02:45

the souls

00:02:46--> 00:02:49

to a level whereby legislation could be accepted

00:02:50--> 00:02:51

wholly as well.

00:02:52--> 00:02:53

No questions asked.

00:02:54--> 00:02:55

When you believe

00:02:57--> 00:02:58

then you accept.

00:02:58--> 00:03:00

When you believe wholeheartedly

00:03:00--> 00:03:02

you accept wholeheartedly.

00:03:02--> 00:03:03

And

00:03:03--> 00:03:05

even as a believer, when you go over

00:03:05--> 00:03:06

the Makkan verses,

00:03:06--> 00:03:08

it builds your iman further.

00:03:09--> 00:03:10

Today, we completed Surah Zumr,

00:03:11--> 00:03:13

and I introduced it to you last night.

00:03:14--> 00:03:16

And then we went into Surah Al Ghafir

00:03:17--> 00:03:18

or Al Mu'min.

00:03:19--> 00:03:21

These are two names connected to the Surah.

00:03:22--> 00:03:22

And then

00:03:23--> 00:03:25

we began Surah Al Fusilat as we heard

00:03:25--> 00:03:27

in the recitation of Hafidaka.

00:03:28--> 00:03:30

And tomorrow you we will continue with Fussilat

00:03:30--> 00:03:32

again. In terms of Surah Zumr,

00:03:34--> 00:03:36

like we said last night, everything we said

00:03:36--> 00:03:38

about the Surah last night continued

00:03:41--> 00:03:42

into tonight's recitation.

00:03:43--> 00:03:44

Allah

00:03:45--> 00:03:46

establishing

00:03:46--> 00:03:47

his oneness

00:03:47--> 00:03:49

and especially in his worship,

00:03:50--> 00:03:52

but also in his lordship. SubhanAllah.

00:03:53--> 00:03:54

And

00:03:55--> 00:03:56

this whole idea

00:03:57--> 00:04:00

of this surah being a shar, an explanation,

00:04:01--> 00:04:02

a middle

00:04:02--> 00:04:04

explanation, meaning in terms of size

00:04:05--> 00:04:05

of the verse,

00:04:06--> 00:04:08

you alone do we worship,

00:04:10--> 00:04:13

and you alone do we seek assistance from.

00:04:14--> 00:04:15

If you understand

00:04:15--> 00:04:16

the implications,

00:04:17--> 00:04:18

the indications,

00:04:19--> 00:04:20

the references,

00:04:21--> 00:04:22

the lessons,

00:04:22--> 00:04:23

the reminders,

00:04:23--> 00:04:24

the pointers,

00:04:25--> 00:04:25

the narratives.

00:04:26--> 00:04:29

In surah Zumr, you can only conclude

00:04:31--> 00:04:33

You can only leave the surah

00:04:34--> 00:04:36

wanting to worship 1 Allah,

00:04:36--> 00:04:38

because you will only leave it with the

00:04:38--> 00:04:39

belief

00:04:40--> 00:04:41

that the only one who can help you

00:04:41--> 00:04:42

is him.

00:04:43--> 00:04:44

And if he is the only one who

00:04:44--> 00:04:46

can help you, then who else should be

00:04:46--> 00:04:46

worshiped?

00:04:47--> 00:04:48

And we exactly

00:04:49--> 00:04:50

say this in Suratul Fatiha,

00:04:54--> 00:04:56

That, dear Allah, you alone do we worship,

00:04:56--> 00:04:59

for you alone do we seek assistance from.

00:04:59--> 00:05:02

Nobody can assist us but you. Allah establishes

00:05:02--> 00:05:02

this, subhanallah,

00:05:04--> 00:05:05

with absolute

00:05:05--> 00:05:06

divine eloquence

00:05:07--> 00:05:08

in Surat Zumr.

00:05:10--> 00:05:11

And

00:05:11--> 00:05:13

I guess we should just go into the

00:05:13--> 00:05:15

standout verses, and I I I have to

00:05:15--> 00:05:17

say this just out of respect for the

00:05:17--> 00:05:19

book of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, all the

00:05:19--> 00:05:20

ayaatah stand out.

00:05:20--> 00:05:22

When we say stand out, we mean in

00:05:22--> 00:05:24

terms of what we can humanly take because

00:05:24--> 00:05:26

of the time that we have together.

00:05:27--> 00:05:28

Otherwise, every verse

00:05:28--> 00:05:29

is a standout verse.

00:05:30--> 00:05:32

And I'd like to go to verse 42.

00:05:33--> 00:05:35

Or before that, for for the sake of

00:05:35--> 00:05:37

consolidation purposes, why not verse 41?

00:05:38--> 00:05:38

May

00:05:39--> 00:05:40

Allah reveals

00:05:54--> 00:05:55

We discussed in Surah Yasi.

00:05:56--> 00:05:58

And over the nights of Ramadan, we've been

00:05:58--> 00:06:00

establishing this that the truth stands by itself,

00:06:01--> 00:06:03

and the messenger's job is to convey, not

00:06:03--> 00:06:04

to convert.

00:06:04--> 00:06:07

And the people's attitude towards the messenger has

00:06:07--> 00:06:08

no bearing on the reality

00:06:09--> 00:06:10

and the fundamental

00:06:12--> 00:06:13

idea

00:06:13--> 00:06:15

of the truth that is being posited and

00:06:15--> 00:06:16

presented.

00:06:17--> 00:06:18

And Allah

00:06:19--> 00:06:21

consolidates this for us in ayah number 41.

00:06:22--> 00:06:24

Indeed, we send down to you the book

00:06:24--> 00:06:26

for the people in truth.

00:06:26--> 00:06:27

Bilhaq.

00:06:27--> 00:06:28

It's in truth.

00:06:29--> 00:06:32

Testimony from Allah. This Quran has been sent

00:06:32--> 00:06:34

down by him in truth. For who? For

00:06:34--> 00:06:34

the people.

00:06:36--> 00:06:37

Whoever is guided,

00:06:38--> 00:06:41

you will benefit yourself. Your guidance does not

00:06:41--> 00:06:43

benefit Allah in any way.

00:06:43--> 00:06:45

Your guidance does not increase his majesty.

00:06:46--> 00:06:46

Your misguidance

00:06:47--> 00:06:49

does not decrease his majesty.

00:06:50--> 00:06:52

He, subhanahu, is perfect from ever,

00:06:52--> 00:06:54

and he's perfect forever.

00:06:55--> 00:06:58

Your attitude towards him has no defining reality

00:06:58--> 00:07:00

in terms of who he is, subhanah.

00:07:00--> 00:07:01

If

00:07:01--> 00:07:04

you want to be guided, far enough seeds

00:07:04--> 00:07:04

for yourself.

00:07:05--> 00:07:06

It's not for Allah.

00:07:07--> 00:07:08

Allah is not benefiting from you.

00:07:09--> 00:07:11

He is independent of samad. You are the

00:07:11--> 00:07:12

dependent one.

00:07:13--> 00:07:15

You depend on as samad. Allah is not

00:07:15--> 00:07:18

sending you the book, sending you the messenger

00:07:18--> 00:07:19

as if he's begging you for him.

00:07:20--> 00:07:21

He's helping you for you,

00:07:22--> 00:07:24

because he only sets up his creation to

00:07:24--> 00:07:25

succeed and not to fail.

00:07:26--> 00:07:28

He only sets up his creation to succeed

00:07:28--> 00:07:30

and not to fail, and in surreyasil we

00:07:30--> 00:07:32

saw how Allah said the night will never

00:07:32--> 00:07:34

overtake the day, and the day will never

00:07:34--> 00:07:36

overtake the night, and the sun, and the

00:07:36--> 00:07:38

moon, and the settings has been set.

00:07:39--> 00:07:41

To the extent that today we can have

00:07:41--> 00:07:43

this discussion, Eid will be on Wednesday.

00:07:44--> 00:07:46

Out of respect for Allah, we say, insha

00:07:46--> 00:07:46

Allah.

00:07:47--> 00:07:49

But also recognizing Allah's law that these, the

00:07:49--> 00:07:51

sun and the moon, will not be set

00:07:51--> 00:07:52

up for failure.

00:07:53--> 00:07:55

And they remain on the path true to

00:07:55--> 00:07:57

the guidance given to them by their lord.

00:07:58--> 00:08:00

Thus we can say it will be on

00:08:00--> 00:08:00

a Wednesday.

00:08:02--> 00:08:04

Allah sets everything up to succeed,

00:08:04--> 00:08:06

including the creation that has a choice,

00:08:07--> 00:08:09

including the creation that has a choice, because

00:08:09--> 00:08:11

you have a choice you got extra

00:08:12--> 00:08:13

care, messenger

00:08:13--> 00:08:14

upon messenger,

00:08:15--> 00:08:17

book after book

00:08:18--> 00:08:22

and another book when mankind themselves changed and

00:08:22--> 00:08:23

tweaked and edited

00:08:24--> 00:08:26

the revelation that Allah sent them.

00:08:27--> 00:08:29

And then he benefited you and set you

00:08:29--> 00:08:30

up to succeed

00:08:30--> 00:08:32

when Allah decreed

00:08:32--> 00:08:35

that no prophet would come by revealing a

00:08:35--> 00:08:37

book that will not come in written form

00:08:37--> 00:08:39

but a recited form so that it can

00:08:39--> 00:08:40

never be changed.

00:08:41--> 00:08:42

Recited

00:08:43--> 00:08:45

and preserved in the hearts of human beings

00:08:46--> 00:08:47

by the will of Allah,

00:08:48--> 00:08:49

true to the promise of Allah.

00:08:53--> 00:08:54

We have revealed this book and we will

00:08:54--> 00:08:55

preserve it.

00:08:56--> 00:08:58

Its preservation is upon Allah till the day

00:08:58--> 00:08:59

of qiyamah it will never be changed.

00:09:00--> 00:09:02

This is a mercy from Allah,

00:09:02--> 00:09:04

and this is further evidence that Allah sets

00:09:04--> 00:09:05

up

00:09:05--> 00:09:06

his creation to succeed.

00:09:07--> 00:09:08

For many

00:09:09--> 00:09:10

if you believe,

00:09:10--> 00:09:11

if you learn,

00:09:12--> 00:09:13

if you adopt,

00:09:13--> 00:09:15

if you change,

00:09:15--> 00:09:18

if you become guided for an nafsi, it

00:09:18--> 00:09:18

is for you.

00:09:20--> 00:09:21

Then Allah says

00:09:24--> 00:09:26

This is again a universal principle.

00:09:27--> 00:09:31

And whoever goes astray only goes astray to

00:09:31--> 00:09:32

their own detriment.

00:09:32--> 00:09:33

That's it.

00:09:35--> 00:09:37

And then Allah reveals to the messenger,

00:09:39--> 00:09:42

For one moment, don't think that we have

00:09:42--> 00:09:42

sent you as a manager over them. You're

00:09:42--> 00:09:43

not a manager over

00:09:45--> 00:09:48

them. You cannot control your team. This team

00:09:48--> 00:09:51

cannot be controlled. You don't have absolute control.

00:09:51--> 00:09:53

You have the ability to guide. You have

00:09:53--> 00:09:55

the ability to convey. You do not have

00:09:55--> 00:09:57

the ability to convert.

00:09:59--> 00:10:00

Something has to come from them.

00:10:01--> 00:10:03

They have to show Allah that in their

00:10:03--> 00:10:04

heart is a desire,

00:10:04--> 00:10:06

and if there is the desire in their

00:10:06--> 00:10:08

heart then Allah will

00:10:09--> 00:10:10

water that desire.

00:10:12--> 00:10:14

Allah will fertilize that desire.

00:10:15--> 00:10:17

Allah gives you the choice from

00:10:19--> 00:10:21

for us. We read every Friday in Suratul

00:10:21--> 00:10:23

Kahf. Whoever wishes belief

00:10:23--> 00:10:25

and whoever wishes disbelief,

00:10:25--> 00:10:27

but whoever wants to believe, Allah will flower

00:10:27--> 00:10:29

it for you. He will help you. You

00:10:29--> 00:10:31

come to Allah walking, he'll come to you

00:10:31--> 00:10:31

faster.

00:10:32--> 00:10:34

You come to him at arms length, he'll

00:10:34--> 00:10:36

come to you 2 arms length.

00:10:37--> 00:10:38

This is

00:10:38--> 00:10:39

Allah

00:10:39--> 00:10:41

and that is why it is of absolute

00:10:41--> 00:10:42

arrogance when people

00:10:43--> 00:10:45

lay blame upon Allah.

00:10:46--> 00:10:48

They lay blame upon Allah when Allah only

00:10:48--> 00:10:50

sets you up to succeed.

00:10:50--> 00:10:54

That's verse 41. This consolidates everything, subhanallah, we've

00:10:54--> 00:10:55

been discussing.

00:10:56--> 00:10:56

Verse 42,

00:10:57--> 00:10:57

Allah

00:10:58--> 00:11:00

tells us about the nafs.

00:11:05--> 00:11:08

Now the scholars of Islam have discussed

00:11:09--> 00:11:10

across a long discourse

00:11:11--> 00:11:13

regarding the nafs. Is it the same as

00:11:13--> 00:11:14

the ruh?

00:11:14--> 00:11:16

Is the nafs the soul?

00:11:17--> 00:11:19

Or is the soul separate and the nafs

00:11:19--> 00:11:19

separate?

00:11:20--> 00:11:23

What is the relationship between the 2?

00:11:24--> 00:11:26

And to further introduce this topic, I take

00:11:26--> 00:11:28

you back to suratul Isra, I think I

00:11:28--> 00:11:29

had traveled then.

00:11:30--> 00:11:32

But in Suratul Isra, Allah reveals,

00:11:33--> 00:11:35

they ask you concerning the soul.

00:11:37--> 00:11:39

They ask you, O Muhammad, concerning the soul.

00:11:39--> 00:11:40

Tell them

00:11:42--> 00:11:44

Tell them the soul is from the command

00:11:44--> 00:11:45

and creation of Allah.

00:11:48--> 00:11:50

And I have not been taught much about

00:11:50--> 00:11:51

it except a little.

00:11:52--> 00:11:53

Okay.

00:11:53--> 00:11:55

So what's the little that Allah has taught

00:11:56--> 00:11:58

us? Fast forward to Surat al Zumr.

00:11:59--> 00:12:00

Allah has taught us in Surat al Zumr

00:12:00--> 00:12:03

something about the soul, But before we discuss

00:12:03--> 00:12:05

that, let's talk about the the soul and

00:12:05--> 00:12:06

the nafs.

00:12:08--> 00:12:11

And the discourse is beyond the scope of

00:12:11--> 00:12:13

this discussion, but to summarize it for you,

00:12:14--> 00:12:15

the nafs

00:12:15--> 00:12:16

refers to

00:12:17--> 00:12:19

the soul connected to the body outside the

00:12:19--> 00:12:20

womb of the mother.

00:12:22--> 00:12:23

This is a nafs

00:12:24--> 00:12:26

That you are a soul in the world

00:12:26--> 00:12:26

of the souls.

00:12:27--> 00:12:29

Then you are a body growing in the

00:12:29--> 00:12:30

womb of your mother.

00:12:31--> 00:12:33

And then a time came, we Allah sent

00:12:33--> 00:12:34

the soul to your body.

00:12:35--> 00:12:37

But even then you are not enoughs. When

00:12:37--> 00:12:39

you are born, and you breathe

00:12:39--> 00:12:40

independently,

00:12:40--> 00:12:42

living the life of this world,

00:12:42--> 00:12:43

you are nafs.

00:12:45--> 00:12:47

So we have a body and we have

00:12:47--> 00:12:47

a soul.

00:12:48--> 00:12:49

Is the body.

00:12:50--> 00:12:52

Is the soul. When the and

00:12:53--> 00:12:55

are together, you are nafs.

00:12:57--> 00:12:57

And

00:12:58--> 00:13:00

in Surat Ashams, Allah says,

00:13:02--> 00:13:03

and the nafs

00:13:05--> 00:13:06

referring to Allah

00:13:07--> 00:13:10

creating it, shaping it, bringing it into existence

00:13:13--> 00:13:15

That Allah inspired this nafs

00:13:16--> 00:13:17

to know

00:13:17--> 00:13:19

what is sinful for it,

00:13:19--> 00:13:22

and what is from taqwa for it. Allah

00:13:22--> 00:13:22

says,

00:13:24--> 00:13:25

The ultimately

00:13:26--> 00:13:29

completely successful one is the one who purifies

00:13:29--> 00:13:30

these nafs. This purification

00:13:31--> 00:13:32

process can only happen in the life of

00:13:32--> 00:13:33

this world,

00:13:33--> 00:13:36

and this is further evidence that a nafs

00:13:36--> 00:13:38

refers to the soul and the body together.

00:13:39--> 00:13:41

In Surah Zumr, Allah teaches us something about

00:13:41--> 00:13:43

the soul. He says, Allah

00:13:44--> 00:13:45

but he uses the term

00:13:45--> 00:13:47

And by the way, further evidence to what

00:13:47--> 00:13:48

I just shared with you

00:13:48--> 00:13:50

is in the death of a companion of

00:13:50--> 00:13:52

the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, for he

00:13:52--> 00:13:55

passed away and his eyes remained open.

00:13:56--> 00:13:58

So the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam went

00:13:58--> 00:14:00

to his companion and shut his eyes.

00:14:00--> 00:14:02

And he said to the sahaba,

00:14:04--> 00:14:05

he didn't say nafs.

00:14:05--> 00:14:06

He said

00:14:07--> 00:14:09

when the soul departs.

00:14:09--> 00:14:12

He didn't say when the nafs departs because

00:14:12--> 00:14:13

now you have a body without a soul.

00:14:13--> 00:14:15

He said when the soul departs,

00:14:17--> 00:14:19

the eyesight follows it.

00:14:20--> 00:14:22

But why do the eyes remain open?

00:14:23--> 00:14:25

Because the electricity has switched off.

00:14:25--> 00:14:27

The soul is the electricity of the body.

00:14:29--> 00:14:30

And how do we know this? From Surah

00:14:30--> 00:14:31

Zumr. Allah

00:14:32--> 00:14:32

says

00:14:33--> 00:14:33

Allahu

00:14:34--> 00:14:34

Allah,

00:14:35--> 00:14:36

this is from the little Allah has told

00:14:36--> 00:14:40

us about the soul. Allah lifts the soul.

00:14:40--> 00:14:41

Refers to the soul.

00:14:43--> 00:14:45

Based on context and the discussion that I've

00:14:45--> 00:14:48

just shared. Allah raises the soul

00:14:49--> 00:14:49

completely

00:14:50--> 00:14:51

at the time of death.

00:14:53--> 00:14:55

At the time of death or whoever has

00:14:55--> 00:14:57

visited a person who's passed away,

00:14:59--> 00:15:01

you would have noticed that their bodies in

00:15:01--> 00:15:01

front of you,

00:15:02--> 00:15:04

their eyes are there, their ears are there,

00:15:04--> 00:15:06

their mouth is there, their tongue is there,

00:15:07--> 00:15:09

their hearts in place, their lungs are in

00:15:09--> 00:15:10

the blood's in the body.

00:15:11--> 00:15:13

But when you speak to this person who's

00:15:13--> 00:15:14

deceased can they hear you?

00:15:15--> 00:15:17

If you open their eyes can they see

00:15:17--> 00:15:19

you? The pupils are there but can they

00:15:19--> 00:15:19

see you?

00:15:20--> 00:15:22

They can't. Why is the electricity switched off?

00:15:24--> 00:15:26

Like any device you have, if it's if

00:15:26--> 00:15:28

if the battery runs out, the button is

00:15:28--> 00:15:29

there, the screen everything is there, but it's

00:15:29--> 00:15:30

not responsive.

00:15:31--> 00:15:33

So the electricity is the soul of the

00:15:33--> 00:15:33

body,

00:15:34--> 00:15:36

sorry, the soul is the electricity of the

00:15:36--> 00:15:37

body,

00:15:37--> 00:15:39

The jet lag is still lagging.

00:15:40--> 00:15:42

The soul is the electricity of the body.

00:15:42--> 00:15:46

Allah says Allah lifts the soul completely at

00:15:46--> 00:15:48

the time of death. Then he says,

00:15:50--> 00:15:52

And as for the being that Allah has

00:15:52--> 00:15:55

decreed won't die, Allah lifts the soul partially

00:15:56--> 00:15:57

at the time of sleep.

00:16:01--> 00:16:03

Allah refers to this lifting as death.

00:16:06--> 00:16:08

Have you ever thought why the sunnah of

00:16:08--> 00:16:08

the

00:16:09--> 00:16:11

prophet before sleeping is

00:16:13--> 00:16:15

Oh Allah, in your name,

00:16:16--> 00:16:18

I die and I live. Have you ever

00:16:18--> 00:16:20

thought about this? Why do you say I

00:16:20--> 00:16:21

die and I live?

00:16:22--> 00:16:24

O Allah, in your name I die and

00:16:24--> 00:16:24

I live.

00:16:26--> 00:16:29

Meaning, I die the death of sleep,

00:16:29--> 00:16:31

and I live if you send the soul

00:16:31--> 00:16:32

back to me.

00:16:33--> 00:16:34

And when you wake up in the morning,

00:16:34--> 00:16:35

you say,

00:16:41--> 00:16:43

All praises belongs to Allah who gave me

00:16:43--> 00:16:44

life

00:16:44--> 00:16:46

after giving me death. Which life and which

00:16:46--> 00:16:47

death?

00:16:48--> 00:16:49

The life of today

00:16:49--> 00:16:52

after experiencing the death of last night.

00:16:52--> 00:16:55

And then you say, and unto him is

00:16:55--> 00:16:57

our ultimate return. The day will come when

00:16:57--> 00:16:59

the soul will be lifted and not be

00:16:59--> 00:16:59

sent back.

00:17:02--> 00:17:04

You teach yourself this, but our duas are

00:17:04--> 00:17:06

merely rituals, isn't it?

00:17:07--> 00:17:10

We don't live the moment, that the dua

00:17:10--> 00:17:13

is a tarbiyah moment for us. This dua

00:17:13--> 00:17:13

we make when,

00:17:14--> 00:17:17

if we slept knowing subhanAllah that we are

00:17:17--> 00:17:18

going to die a partial death, honestly, who

00:17:18--> 00:17:19

will sleep?

00:17:21--> 00:17:23

But your body tires it needs to rest

00:17:23--> 00:17:25

and when Allah lifts that soul it's a

00:17:25--> 00:17:27

mercy from Allah on you. Ask those who

00:17:27--> 00:17:29

specialize in power naps.

00:17:31--> 00:17:33

They have a power nap, subhanAllah, the soul

00:17:33--> 00:17:35

being lifted just a moment it gives such

00:17:35--> 00:17:36

rest to the body.

00:17:36--> 00:17:37

You wake up feeling refreshed

00:17:38--> 00:17:40

like you've slept for a long time and

00:17:40--> 00:17:42

you're ready to get on with it

00:17:42--> 00:17:44

and that is why the scholars say the

00:17:44--> 00:17:46

easiest death is the death of a person

00:17:46--> 00:17:47

when they are asleep. Why?

00:17:48--> 00:17:50

Because half of the soul was lifted by

00:17:50--> 00:17:51

Allah

00:17:51--> 00:17:53

and the other half by the angel of

00:17:53--> 00:17:55

death, and Allah's lifting is far more merciful

00:17:55--> 00:17:56

than the angel of death.

00:17:57--> 00:17:59

The lifting of the angel of death is

00:17:59--> 00:18:00

the lifting of the creation,

00:18:00--> 00:18:02

and the lifting of Allah is the lifting

00:18:02--> 00:18:03

of the creator.

00:18:05--> 00:18:07

So we see this in Surah Zumr. May

00:18:07--> 00:18:07

Allah

00:18:08--> 00:18:09

grant us the understanding.

00:18:10--> 00:18:10

Also,

00:18:11--> 00:18:14

sublime forgiveness, subhanAllah, in Surah Zumr, there's the

00:18:14--> 00:18:17

ayah known as a the ayah of hope.

00:18:17--> 00:18:19

If you ever ask this question,

00:18:19--> 00:18:21

which is the eye of hope in the

00:18:21--> 00:18:21

Quran?

00:18:22--> 00:18:24

It is eye number 53 in Surah Zumr.

00:18:25--> 00:18:27

This is known as the eye of hope

00:18:28--> 00:18:29

by the scholars of tafsir.

00:18:30--> 00:18:30

Allah

00:18:31--> 00:18:33

reveals, and this is a Maqkhan Surah as

00:18:33--> 00:18:33

well.

00:18:44--> 00:18:47

Allah says to Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, Say

00:18:47--> 00:18:48

to my Ibad,

00:18:49--> 00:18:50

my servants,

00:18:53--> 00:18:56

those who have transgressed themselves excessively,

00:18:58--> 00:18:58

asrafu,

00:18:59--> 00:19:01

they were excessive in their transgression.

00:19:02--> 00:19:03

They were excessive

00:19:04--> 00:19:05

to the extent, subhanallah,

00:19:06--> 00:19:09

that shaitan has every tool to push them

00:19:10--> 00:19:11

to the realm

00:19:12--> 00:19:14

of loss of hope.

00:19:14--> 00:19:16

Say to them, O Muhammad,

00:19:22--> 00:19:25

Say to them, do never ever and do

00:19:25--> 00:19:27

not lose hope in the mercy of Allah.

00:19:28--> 00:19:29

Subhan Allah.

00:19:29--> 00:19:31

And for those who understand the Arabic language,

00:19:31--> 00:19:33

this this idea of

00:19:34--> 00:19:34

is not

00:19:36--> 00:19:37

is loss of hope.

00:19:38--> 00:19:38

Lataknato

00:19:38--> 00:19:39

is

00:19:39--> 00:19:42

a extreme level of loss of hope.

00:19:42--> 00:19:45

Allah is using the extreme here that you

00:19:45--> 00:19:47

could have been so excessive that you are

00:19:47--> 00:19:49

beyond having lost hope. You are at the

00:19:49--> 00:19:51

point of no return.

00:19:51--> 00:19:53

Allah says tell them, O Muhammad,

00:19:55--> 00:19:58

don't lose hope in the mercy of Allah.

00:20:01--> 00:20:02

Indeed Allah.

00:20:09--> 00:20:11

Allah. The present tense in the Arabic language.

00:20:19--> 00:20:21

The present tense in the Arabic language carries

00:20:21--> 00:20:23

the meaning of something which is now and

00:20:23--> 00:20:24

continuous.

00:20:25--> 00:20:27

Allah will continuously

00:20:27--> 00:20:28

forgive

00:20:28--> 00:20:29

all your sins wholesale,

00:20:31--> 00:20:31

all together.

00:20:36--> 00:20:38

Indeed, he's the most forgiving, the most merciful.

00:20:39--> 00:20:40

SubhanAllah.

00:20:41--> 00:20:42

Now these are Maqan verses,

00:20:43--> 00:20:44

and the Quraysh are listening

00:20:45--> 00:20:46

in the arrogant denial,

00:20:47--> 00:20:49

denial of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and his

00:20:49--> 00:20:51

messenger in his book.

00:20:51--> 00:20:53

What about the Muslims who hear these verses?

00:20:54--> 00:20:55

What hope should we have

00:20:56--> 00:20:57

in a month of hope

00:20:58--> 00:21:00

when the doors of Jahannam are shut and

00:21:00--> 00:21:02

the doors of Jannah are open?

00:21:08--> 00:21:10

In a month of hope,

00:21:10--> 00:21:12

in the nights of hope,

00:21:12--> 00:21:14

on an odd night,

00:21:15--> 00:21:17

Surely my dear brother and sister in Islam,

00:21:17--> 00:21:19

it's as if Allah has,

00:21:21--> 00:21:21

subhanallah,

00:21:22--> 00:21:24

what a Qadr, on this night we listen

00:21:24--> 00:21:25

to this verse.

00:21:26--> 00:21:29

That we engage him with good thoughts about

00:21:29--> 00:21:29

him.

00:21:32--> 00:21:33

Tonight, we ask Allah to forgive us, and

00:21:33--> 00:21:35

we wake up tomorrow believing

00:21:35--> 00:21:37

as if our slates

00:21:37--> 00:21:38

are how

00:21:38--> 00:21:39

they were

00:21:40--> 00:21:41

the day we were born.

00:21:42--> 00:21:44

This is how we will trade with Allah

00:21:44--> 00:21:45

tonight.

00:21:46--> 00:21:48

We will read to Allah this verse 53

00:21:48--> 00:21:49

from Surah Zumr,

00:21:49--> 00:21:51

and we will pray for her tomorrow

00:21:52--> 00:21:53

having a new start.

00:21:54--> 00:21:55

A new not a new chapter,

00:21:56--> 00:21:56

a new book.

00:21:58--> 00:22:00

This is how the believers stayed with Allah.

00:22:01--> 00:22:03

Allah. Surat Zumr. And do it, for it

00:22:03--> 00:22:05

is Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala who said in

00:22:05--> 00:22:06

a hadith, qudsiyaabina

00:22:07--> 00:22:07

Adam.

00:22:16--> 00:22:17

That, oh son of Adam,

00:22:18--> 00:22:20

you sin throughout the day and throughout the

00:22:20--> 00:22:23

night, but it is Allah who forgives all

00:22:23--> 00:22:23

sins.

00:22:25--> 00:22:29

Seek forgiveness from Allah. What does Allah say?

00:22:29--> 00:22:30

He doesn't say I will forgive you.

00:22:31--> 00:22:32

He says,

00:22:34--> 00:22:37

for those scholars of Usul Al Fiqh, jurisprudence

00:22:37--> 00:22:38

methodology.

00:22:38--> 00:22:40

What does this mean? This means Allah is

00:22:40--> 00:22:43

saying seek forgiveness from me and consider yourself

00:22:43--> 00:22:44

forgiven.

00:22:45--> 00:22:46

Do not doubt maybe

00:22:47--> 00:22:47

I'm forgiven,

00:22:48--> 00:22:49

maybe

00:22:49--> 00:22:50

I'm not forgiven,

00:22:50--> 00:22:51

maybe

00:22:51--> 00:22:53

I'm partially forgiven. This

00:22:54--> 00:22:56

is your Lord. SubhanAllah.

00:22:57--> 00:22:59

I introduce you to Allah through verse

00:23:00--> 00:23:00

53.

00:23:01--> 00:23:03

Then Allah takes us to the end.

00:23:03--> 00:23:04

Subhanallah.

00:23:05--> 00:23:07

And the end, my dear brothers and sisters

00:23:07--> 00:23:07

in Islam,

00:23:08--> 00:23:11

is really the crux of Surat, Zumr. And

00:23:11--> 00:23:12

that is why it's called a Zumr, because

00:23:12--> 00:23:14

Allah tells us of these groups inshallah,

00:23:14--> 00:23:17

that we will listen to. I rather let

00:23:17--> 00:23:19

the words of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

00:23:19--> 00:23:20

reach you

00:23:21--> 00:23:23

in the form of recitation.

00:23:34--> 00:23:36

And those who believed

00:23:36--> 00:23:37

and those who disbelieved

00:23:38--> 00:23:40

will be driven to hell

00:23:40--> 00:23:41

in groups.

00:24:11--> 00:24:13

They will be driven to hell in groups

00:24:13--> 00:24:15

until when they reach it,

00:24:16--> 00:24:17

its gates are opened

00:24:18--> 00:24:19

and its keepers will say,

00:24:20--> 00:24:23

did there not come to you messengers from

00:24:23--> 00:24:23

yourselves?

00:24:26--> 00:24:28

One second. One second.

00:24:28--> 00:24:30

Remember brothers and sisters in Islam

00:24:30--> 00:24:32

the discourse over the last few nights is

00:24:32--> 00:24:33

what

00:24:33--> 00:24:35

they were actually telling the messengers

00:24:37--> 00:24:40

that if your message is true, then why

00:24:41--> 00:24:42

is this message coming to us

00:24:43--> 00:24:46

from people who are from us, who are

00:24:46--> 00:24:48

like us, who eat like us,

00:24:48--> 00:24:51

sleep like us, drink like us. Allah is

00:24:51--> 00:24:52

telling us what will happen on the day

00:24:52--> 00:24:53

of Piyamah.

00:24:54--> 00:24:54

That

00:24:55--> 00:24:57

it will be said to them. The keepers

00:24:57--> 00:24:58

will say,

00:24:59--> 00:25:01

did they not come to you messengers from

00:25:01--> 00:25:01

yourselves

00:25:02--> 00:25:05

reciting to you the verses of your Lord

00:25:05--> 00:25:07

and warning you of the meeting of this

00:25:07--> 00:25:08

day of yours.

00:25:08--> 00:25:10

You were told the message came to you,

00:25:10--> 00:25:13

the reminders came to you, they persisted with

00:25:13--> 00:25:13

you.

00:25:24--> 00:25:26

No. Allah says they will say yes.

00:25:27--> 00:25:28

They will say yes.

00:25:29--> 00:25:30

In Sura Mukha as well, we have a

00:25:30--> 00:25:31

similar discourse.

00:25:32--> 00:25:33

They will say yes, but it's too late

00:25:33--> 00:25:36

now. Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says, but the

00:25:36--> 00:25:39

word of punishment has come into effect upon

00:25:39--> 00:25:40

the disbelievers.

00:25:41--> 00:25:41

Now

00:25:49--> 00:25:51

It will be said to them, enter the

00:25:51--> 00:25:54

gates of hell to abide eternally therein.

00:26:01--> 00:26:03

And wretched is the residence of the arrogant,

00:26:03--> 00:26:04

arrogant.

00:26:05--> 00:26:07

Remember we spoke from the time of Suratul

00:26:07--> 00:26:07

A'raf.

00:26:09--> 00:26:10

One of the obstacles

00:26:10--> 00:26:12

that blocks us from Allah is arrogance,

00:26:13--> 00:26:15

and he brings us down full with arrogance.

00:26:16--> 00:26:18

I am better than him.

00:26:19--> 00:26:20

What does Allah say here?

00:26:21--> 00:26:22

That they will be destined to the Hal

00:26:22--> 00:26:25

Fayou because of the arrogance. Not because they

00:26:25--> 00:26:26

didn't know,

00:26:26--> 00:26:27

they knew

00:26:28--> 00:26:29

but they arrogantly

00:26:30--> 00:26:31

overcame the truth.

00:26:32--> 00:26:33

It was from their own doing.

00:26:34--> 00:26:36

It wasn't that the messengers failed in their

00:26:36--> 00:26:37

duty towards them.

00:26:38--> 00:26:40

It wasn't that Allah didn't send miracles with

00:26:40--> 00:26:41

the messengers

00:26:41--> 00:26:43

to show them that we are like you,

00:26:43--> 00:26:44

but look we have these miracles.

00:26:45--> 00:26:47

As we will see in Surah Gafir, in

00:26:47--> 00:26:48

the story of Firaun.

00:26:48--> 00:26:50

As scholars have deduced from pondering over those

00:26:50--> 00:26:52

verses that Firaun deep down knew.

00:26:53--> 00:26:54

We'll come to that inshallah.

00:26:55--> 00:26:56

Now,

00:27:02--> 00:27:04

Subhanallah, imagine you're a disbeliever, the time of

00:27:04--> 00:27:07

the Quraysh, the Quran is coming down. You

00:27:07--> 00:27:08

hear these verses about jahannam.

00:27:08--> 00:27:10

Allah finishes and immediately

00:27:11--> 00:27:11

says,

00:27:12--> 00:27:14

that these believers who you are mocking and

00:27:14--> 00:27:17

laughing at and jeering and sanctioning

00:27:17--> 00:27:20

and beating and ridiculing and punishing

00:27:20--> 00:27:21

and sanctioning.

00:27:24--> 00:27:24

Allah says,

00:27:26--> 00:27:27

but those who fear their Lord, meaning the

00:27:27--> 00:27:28

believers,

00:27:28--> 00:27:30

they will be driven to paradise

00:27:31--> 00:27:32

in groups.

00:27:41--> 00:27:44

Allah says until when they reach it whilst

00:27:44--> 00:27:46

its gates have been opened.

00:27:46--> 00:27:48

Now there's a difference here, SubhanAllah.

00:27:48--> 00:27:50

When Allah spoke about Jahannam,

00:27:50--> 00:27:51

he said,

00:27:53--> 00:27:55

When he spoke about Jannah, he said, This

00:27:58--> 00:28:00

wow, SubhanAllah, is not misplaced.

00:28:00--> 00:28:02

Just one letter, one letter not a word

00:28:02--> 00:28:04

one letter it has an impact on our

00:28:04--> 00:28:06

understanding of the verse that

00:28:07--> 00:28:09

subhanAllah when it comes to the people of

00:28:09--> 00:28:11

the hellfire they will be

00:28:11--> 00:28:14

driven to the doors and the gates of

00:28:14--> 00:28:14

Jahannam,

00:28:15--> 00:28:17

the 7 Gates of Jahannam.

00:28:18--> 00:28:21

Jannah has 8 gates, jahannam has 7 gates,

00:28:21--> 00:28:23

as the scholars of tafsir teach us.

00:28:23--> 00:28:25

They will be driven to the 7 gates,

00:28:25--> 00:28:27

the gates will be shut. But when they

00:28:27--> 00:28:28

are driven there do you think they will

00:28:28--> 00:28:30

be driven there in a parade or they

00:28:30--> 00:28:32

will be driven there with force,

00:28:32--> 00:28:33

with fear,

00:28:34--> 00:28:34

with ferociousness.

00:28:35--> 00:28:37

Now imagine you are driven with ferociousness and

00:28:37--> 00:28:39

you know what's coming and you just said

00:28:39--> 00:28:41

you are standing in front of Allah and

00:28:41--> 00:28:42

you get to the gates and the gates

00:28:42--> 00:28:44

are shut, how do you stand in front

00:28:44--> 00:28:45

of the gates?

00:28:46--> 00:28:48

Relieved or with greater trepidation?

00:28:50--> 00:28:51

SubhanAllah.

00:28:51--> 00:28:53

But as for the people of Jannah,

00:28:54--> 00:28:56

Allah says they will get there

00:28:57--> 00:28:58

and the gates will be opened.

00:29:03--> 00:29:03

SubhanAllah.

00:29:06--> 00:29:07

SubhanAllah.

00:29:09--> 00:29:10

I don't know what that is, but maybe

00:29:10--> 00:29:11

the verses are,

00:29:13--> 00:29:15

or perhaps somebody's playing with, with the wires

00:29:15--> 00:29:16

in the control room.

00:29:19--> 00:29:21

When it comes to Jannah,

00:29:22--> 00:29:23

Allah says

00:29:24--> 00:29:25

and the scholars have discussed this.

00:29:26--> 00:29:28

And then they tapped into the Hadith of

00:29:28--> 00:29:28

Shafa'a.

00:29:29--> 00:29:31

On the day of Qiyamah, the prophet sallallahu

00:29:31--> 00:29:33

alaihi wasallam will intercede

00:29:35--> 00:29:36

for his nation,

00:29:37--> 00:29:38

for the believers.

00:29:39--> 00:29:39

And

00:29:39--> 00:29:42

the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam will intercede for

00:29:42--> 00:29:43

the opening of paradise

00:29:44--> 00:29:46

that he will enter, and when the people

00:29:46--> 00:29:46

come,

00:29:46--> 00:29:49

they will be driven there with excitement,

00:29:49--> 00:29:52

and an excitement that will be continuous. There's

00:29:52--> 00:29:52

no roadblock.

00:29:53--> 00:29:54

It's not that I'm getting there, but the

00:29:54--> 00:29:55

gates are shut.

00:29:56--> 00:29:58

SubhanAllah, that even the process of it being

00:29:58--> 00:30:01

driven there is a paradise centric

00:30:03--> 00:30:04

process by itself

00:30:05--> 00:30:08

that it's understand it like this, it's as

00:30:08--> 00:30:11

if Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala is saying that

00:30:11--> 00:30:12

for the people who believed

00:30:12--> 00:30:14

their paradise will begin before they get into

00:30:14--> 00:30:15

paradise.

00:30:15--> 00:30:17

That just the process of getting to paradise

00:30:17--> 00:30:19

will be a form of paradise in and

00:30:19--> 00:30:20

of itself.

00:30:21--> 00:30:23

That they won't get there and feel, oh,

00:30:23--> 00:30:23

it's

00:30:24--> 00:30:25

shut. I have to wait a minute to

00:30:25--> 00:30:27

see it. I've been excited. I've been waiting

00:30:27--> 00:30:29

for this. No. It will be welcoming for

00:30:29--> 00:30:31

them just by one letter,

00:30:32--> 00:30:33

being in the

00:30:34--> 00:30:34

It's

00:30:35--> 00:30:36

the power of the Quran.

00:30:49--> 00:30:51

A conversation happening in Jahannam

00:30:52--> 00:30:54

with the keepers of the hellfire

00:30:54--> 00:30:56

and a conversation happening in Jahannam

00:30:57--> 00:30:58

with the keepers of paradise.

00:30:59--> 00:31:00

What will the people what will the keepers

00:31:00--> 00:31:02

of paradise say? They will say peace be

00:31:02--> 00:31:03

upon you.

00:31:05--> 00:31:07

The salaam we would share amongst each other.

00:31:07--> 00:31:09

That salaam will be said to us by

00:31:09--> 00:31:12

the keepers of Jannah. Salaam Una'arikum.

00:31:12--> 00:31:15

Peace be upon you. Safety upon you. You

00:31:15--> 00:31:19

have become pure, so enter into Jannah and

00:31:19--> 00:31:21

abide therein internally.

00:31:42--> 00:31:44

And they will say praise to Allah who

00:31:44--> 00:31:46

has fulfilled for us his promise

00:31:47--> 00:31:49

and made us inherit the earth so we

00:31:49--> 00:31:52

may settle in paradise wherever we were.

00:31:52--> 00:31:54

Wherever we were. No borders,

00:31:55--> 00:31:55

no passports,

00:31:56--> 00:31:57

no visas,

00:31:57--> 00:31:58

no immigration,

00:31:59--> 00:32:00

no customs,

00:32:01--> 00:32:02

no shaitan.

00:32:03--> 00:32:05

No worry about will I wake up tomorrow

00:32:05--> 00:32:07

and Allah will be upset with me. That

00:32:07--> 00:32:09

is absolute paradise SubhanAllah,

00:32:09--> 00:32:11

to know that my Lord will never ever

00:32:11--> 00:32:13

be upset with me, just that in and

00:32:13--> 00:32:14

of itself

00:32:14--> 00:32:15

is a paradise.

00:32:18--> 00:32:19

They will say praise be to Allah, who

00:32:19--> 00:32:21

fulfilled for us his promise and made us

00:32:21--> 00:32:23

inherit the earth so we may settle in

00:32:23--> 00:32:26

paradise wherever we will. An excellent is the

00:32:26--> 00:32:26

reward

00:32:27--> 00:32:28

of the righteous worker.

00:32:29--> 00:32:31

The righteous slave who acts.

00:32:31--> 00:32:32

SubhanAllah.

00:32:33--> 00:32:35

So this is Surah Uzumr in a nutshell,

00:32:35--> 00:32:37

and then Allah takes us to another Maqan

00:32:37--> 00:32:40

Surah, Surah Agathir or Surah Al Mumin,

00:32:40--> 00:32:44

which is a surah consisting of 85 verses

00:32:45--> 00:32:47

and carries the same genre of knowledge as

00:32:47--> 00:32:48

all the other Maqan

00:32:49--> 00:32:50

Surahs we discussed.

00:32:51--> 00:32:52

But Surah Ghafir

00:32:53--> 00:32:55

is unique because as you heard the imam

00:32:55--> 00:32:56

recite today,

00:32:57--> 00:32:59

when he start when the imam started surat

00:32:59--> 00:33:01

Zumr, there was no disjointed letters before it,

00:33:01--> 00:33:02

it was Tanzil

00:33:02--> 00:33:03

al Kitab.

00:33:04--> 00:33:07

When Surah Ghafir kicks in, we see hamim.

00:33:08--> 00:33:09

And hamim

00:33:10--> 00:33:12

is one hamim

00:33:13--> 00:33:15

of the group of surahs known as al

00:33:15--> 00:33:15

Hawamim.

00:33:17--> 00:33:18

And al Hawamim

00:33:18--> 00:33:19

refer to

00:33:20--> 00:33:21

the Meccan Surahs,

00:33:22--> 00:33:24

and in a report that goes back to

00:33:24--> 00:33:26

Abdullah ibn Abbas radiAllahu anhu a,

00:33:27--> 00:33:28

it states that the Hawamiem,

00:33:29--> 00:33:29

these Hawamiem,

00:33:30--> 00:33:33

they were revealed after Surah Zumr in order,

00:33:33--> 00:33:35

and they are 7 in number.

00:33:35--> 00:33:36

Surah Al Gavir,

00:33:36--> 00:33:39

Surah Fusilat, which we started tonight,

00:33:39--> 00:33:42

Surah Ashura, which we will do tomorrow. A

00:33:42--> 00:33:42

zukruf,

00:33:43--> 00:33:46

number 4. A dukhan, number 5. Al jathiyah,

00:33:46--> 00:33:49

number 6. And alaqaaf number 7.

00:33:49--> 00:33:52

7 surahs, one after the other all begin

00:33:52--> 00:33:53

with hamim.

00:33:54--> 00:33:56

All Maqkan surahs

00:33:57--> 00:33:59

and revealed after Surat Zumr,

00:34:00--> 00:34:00

SubhanAllah.

00:34:01--> 00:34:02

So

00:34:02--> 00:34:04

as we travel SubhanAllah

00:34:04--> 00:34:05

through the nights of the Quran,

00:34:06--> 00:34:07

we can actually live

00:34:07--> 00:34:09

the periods of the Sirach

00:34:10--> 00:34:11

that these were intense moments

00:34:12--> 00:34:14

and the verses are coming down to deal

00:34:14--> 00:34:15

with the moments that the Muslims are going

00:34:15--> 00:34:18

through. That here you have surah Zumr and

00:34:18--> 00:34:20

then 7 consecutive Suras

00:34:21--> 00:34:22

dealing with matters of the hereafter,

00:34:23--> 00:34:26

establishing the Messenger as the Messenger, affirming Allah

00:34:26--> 00:34:27

as 1 in his lordship, and 1 in

00:34:27--> 00:34:29

his worship, and 1 in his lords and

00:34:29--> 00:34:30

attributes,

00:34:32--> 00:34:35

highlighting the reality that contrary to common opinion,

00:34:35--> 00:34:37

there is life after death.

00:34:38--> 00:34:40

And then the messenger is going through what

00:34:40--> 00:34:42

he's going through, so keeping him stable and

00:34:42--> 00:34:43

steadfast.

00:34:43--> 00:34:45

He's a human being

00:34:45--> 00:34:47

revealing to him so he doesn't break, remain

00:34:47--> 00:34:50

strong. The journey is long. So all in

00:34:50--> 00:34:52

Allah's plan, Allah lets things be based on

00:34:52--> 00:34:53

a wisdom,

00:34:54--> 00:34:56

and he restricts events based on a wisdom.

00:34:56--> 00:34:59

He releases events based on a wisdom.

00:34:59--> 00:35:01

Same like kazza today. 1 of the sisters

00:35:01--> 00:35:02

was asking me on the weekend,

00:35:03--> 00:35:04

our faith is being

00:35:04--> 00:35:05

impacted

00:35:05--> 00:35:07

because Allah is letting this happen. Allah

00:35:08--> 00:35:09

my dear sister.

00:35:10--> 00:35:12

Allah is the one who restricts and he

00:35:12--> 00:35:13

releases.

00:35:13--> 00:35:15

We have to go back to our tuhid,

00:35:15--> 00:35:16

not disassociate

00:35:17--> 00:35:18

ourselves with our tuhid. This shouldn't be a

00:35:18--> 00:35:22

matter that makes our iman become weakened, but

00:35:22--> 00:35:24

rather it should be a matter that strengthens

00:35:24--> 00:35:26

our iman, that these prophecies

00:35:27--> 00:35:28

were revealed to us in the

00:35:28--> 00:35:30

by the prophet salallahu alaihi

00:35:31--> 00:35:33

wa sallam, and these matters of the end

00:35:33--> 00:35:35

of time were revealed to us in the

00:35:35--> 00:35:36

Quran, and now we're seeing it with the

00:35:36--> 00:35:36

naked

00:35:38--> 00:35:40

eye. It is a matter that should strengthen

00:35:40--> 00:35:40

our faith,

00:35:41--> 00:35:43

and we go back to our tawhid,

00:35:43--> 00:35:45

and we recognize who our Lord is.

00:35:48--> 00:35:49

It's Allah who constricts

00:35:50--> 00:35:50

circumstances,

00:35:51--> 00:35:52

and he releases circumstances.

00:35:53--> 00:35:55

And through it, everyone will build the hereafter

00:35:55--> 00:35:57

and they will return to Allah. And Allah

00:35:57--> 00:35:59

subhanahu wa ta'ala

00:36:00--> 00:36:01

will enter them

00:36:01--> 00:36:04

into their zum'r, into their groups and they

00:36:04--> 00:36:04

will be driven

00:36:05--> 00:36:06

an appropriate driving.

00:36:07--> 00:36:08

So this is

00:36:10--> 00:36:11

the start of Al Ghafar.

00:36:12--> 00:36:14

Now what's its connection to Zumr? Remember we

00:36:14--> 00:36:15

said

00:36:15--> 00:36:17

earlier this idea of love,

00:36:18--> 00:36:19

fear, hope,

00:36:20--> 00:36:22

the story of the dove as Ibn Uqayim

00:36:22--> 00:36:23

described

00:36:23--> 00:36:24

and the 2 wings, one wing is of

00:36:24--> 00:36:26

fear and one wing is of hope.

00:36:26--> 00:36:27

Zumr

00:36:28--> 00:36:29

delivers fear to the disbelievers,

00:36:31--> 00:36:32

but ghafir

00:36:33--> 00:36:34

delivers hope to them.

00:36:34--> 00:36:35

Imagine you are a disbeliever,

00:36:36--> 00:36:38

you reading surat al Zumr, waseeqallatheena

00:36:38--> 00:36:39

kafarwilla

00:36:39--> 00:36:40

jahannamazumr,

00:36:40--> 00:36:42

you have fear in you.

00:36:42--> 00:36:44

Whether you like it or not, peer pressure,

00:36:44--> 00:36:47

public pressure, public opinion, for whatever reason you

00:36:47--> 00:36:47

are not

00:36:48--> 00:36:50

making the jump, but deep down you know

00:36:50--> 00:36:52

that if this prophet is true

00:36:53--> 00:36:54

my end is

00:36:54--> 00:36:57

going to be doom and gloom. Allah starts

00:37:00--> 00:37:00

Ghafir

00:37:01--> 00:37:02

with hope for the disbeliever.

00:37:03--> 00:37:04

He says,

00:37:10--> 00:37:12

SubhanAllah. The forgiver of the sins,

00:37:13--> 00:37:15

the acceptor of repentances, this is you Allah.

00:37:15--> 00:37:17

The Allah who will drive the disbelievers in

00:37:17--> 00:37:18

groups to the hellfire,

00:37:19--> 00:37:21

the same Allah will accept your Islam if

00:37:21--> 00:37:22

you make the step.

00:37:22--> 00:37:25

He will wipe out your previous deeds, and

00:37:25--> 00:37:27

your previous sins, and the matters of your

00:37:27--> 00:37:28

previous life.

00:37:28--> 00:37:30

And Tawb here, subhanAllah, is not Tawbah.

00:37:32--> 00:37:34

Tawbah is the plural of Tawbah,

00:37:34--> 00:37:36

and tawbah is for major sins.

00:37:37--> 00:37:39

And Allah is not saying tawbah, meaning a

00:37:39--> 00:37:41

major sin, and you repent for it, and

00:37:41--> 00:37:43

Allah forgives you Allah saying tawbah. He will

00:37:43--> 00:37:45

accept all your repentances

00:37:46--> 00:37:49

that there's no limit to this irrespective of

00:37:49--> 00:37:50

what you've done the door is still open

00:37:50--> 00:37:52

as long as you're breathing So look at

00:37:52--> 00:37:54

the banners that Allah also brings in terms

00:37:54--> 00:37:56

of fear and hope not just to the

00:37:56--> 00:37:58

believers but to the disbelievers.

00:37:58--> 00:38:01

This is a Quran. SubhanAllah. How deep can

00:38:01--> 00:38:02

we go?

00:38:05--> 00:38:06

There is no one worthy of worship besides

00:38:06--> 00:38:08

1 Allah and you will return to him.

00:38:09--> 00:38:10

This is the reality.

00:38:11--> 00:38:11

Bayib.

00:38:12--> 00:38:14

The contents of the surah, it contains the

00:38:14--> 00:38:16

knowledge that, like we said, fits the knowledge

00:38:16--> 00:38:17

revealed pre hijra.

00:38:17--> 00:38:20

And in particular, it highlights the end of

00:38:20--> 00:38:21

those who

00:38:24--> 00:38:25

who listen to the messenger

00:38:26--> 00:38:27

and the end of those who do not

00:38:27--> 00:38:29

listen to the messenger, similar to surah Zumr.

00:38:29--> 00:38:32

It also inspires the messenger sallallahu alaihi wa

00:38:32--> 00:38:34

sallam to exercise a beautiful patience. Like I

00:38:34--> 00:38:36

said, when you read these surahs, it's like

00:38:36--> 00:38:38

you're living the seerah now. You can really

00:38:38--> 00:38:39

see that, subhanAllah,

00:38:39--> 00:38:41

when these surahs were coming down, the matter

00:38:41--> 00:38:42

was severe on the believers.

00:38:42--> 00:38:45

That these are really verses coming down at

00:38:45--> 00:38:47

the earlier part of the prophetic mission. Things

00:38:47--> 00:38:49

are difficult. Things are tough. Things are happening.

00:38:49--> 00:38:51

The persecution is at an all time high.

00:38:52--> 00:38:53

Maybe not right at the beginning, but towards

00:38:53--> 00:38:55

the beginning, meaning not at the end, before

00:38:55--> 00:38:56

hijra,

00:38:57--> 00:38:59

but at that point where really the Quraysh,

00:39:00--> 00:39:02

they felt they had a hand on things.

00:39:05--> 00:39:06

Allah is

00:39:06--> 00:39:08

revealing to the Messenger

00:39:08--> 00:39:10

his need to bring himself together

00:39:10--> 00:39:12

and exhibit a beautiful patience. And we will

00:39:12--> 00:39:14

see this in the story of Musa that

00:39:14--> 00:39:16

Allah reveals in the surah.

00:39:16--> 00:39:18

It also lists universal evidences to prove the

00:39:18--> 00:39:20

existence of Allah as the Lord who is

00:39:20--> 00:39:23

alone in his worship. Meaning, if you're a

00:39:23--> 00:39:26

objective human being, you will rationally conclude that

00:39:26--> 00:39:28

these verses are from our Lord and it

00:39:28--> 00:39:29

makes sense to believe in him. It's rational

00:39:29--> 00:39:31

for me to believe in Ranul Allah. Put

00:39:31--> 00:39:33

aside that whether he's from

00:39:34--> 00:39:36

a human being, whether he's a human being

00:39:36--> 00:39:38

and not an angel or whether he, you

00:39:38--> 00:39:39

know, he's from you and not from somewhere

00:39:39--> 00:39:41

else, put all that aside, listen to the

00:39:41--> 00:39:42

message.

00:39:42--> 00:39:44

The message is very rational

00:39:44--> 00:39:47

but you have to be objective, you cannot

00:39:47--> 00:39:47

be subjective,

00:39:48--> 00:39:50

you got to be objective, you've got to

00:39:51--> 00:39:52

be in a situation whereby

00:39:53--> 00:39:54

you are able

00:39:55--> 00:39:57

to listen to the revelation

00:39:58--> 00:39:59

and allow it to guide you.

00:40:01--> 00:40:02

And to do that, you have to get

00:40:02--> 00:40:03

rid of the bias.

00:40:04--> 00:40:05

No biases here.

00:40:06--> 00:40:08

But if you want to engage revelation

00:40:09--> 00:40:11

in a manner that you will funnel it

00:40:11--> 00:40:12

and channel it

00:40:14--> 00:40:16

and bend it to fit a particular narrative,

00:40:17--> 00:40:19

then the revelation won't guide you. It's there

00:40:19--> 00:40:20

to guide, but for those who want to

00:40:20--> 00:40:21

be guided.

00:40:21--> 00:40:24

Now again, like previous surahs, Allah establishes this

00:40:24--> 00:40:26

in the narrative format and he also establishes

00:40:26--> 00:40:28

it in the story format.

00:40:28--> 00:40:30

And the story that I want to quickly

00:40:30--> 00:40:32

talk about is not a fiction not a

00:40:32--> 00:40:33

story of fiction, of course, a real story.

00:40:33--> 00:40:34

When we say story, we don't mean fiction.

00:40:34--> 00:40:36

It's not story time, Yani.

00:40:36--> 00:40:37

You know, the story time where we're just

00:40:37--> 00:40:40

telling fiction, fictional stories. Real stories, right? The

00:40:40--> 00:40:43

story of Musa, Firaun, and Banu Israel. Allah

00:40:43--> 00:40:45

subhanahu wa ta'ala says, walakatarasallam

00:40:45--> 00:40:47

Musa biayatina wsuwtanimubin.

00:40:48--> 00:40:49

Let's listen inshallah.

00:40:56--> 00:40:58

And we did certainly send Musa with our

00:40:58--> 00:41:01

signs and clear authority, With our

00:41:05--> 00:41:06

signs.

00:41:08--> 00:41:09

To Firaun,

00:41:37--> 00:41:38

So up to now, we can see it's

00:41:38--> 00:41:39

the same story,

00:41:40--> 00:41:41

just different actors.

00:41:41--> 00:41:44

Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam is receiving these

00:41:44--> 00:41:45

verses,

00:41:45--> 00:41:47

and immediately he can see that, subhanallah,

00:41:48--> 00:41:49

Allah is revealing to me

00:41:50--> 00:41:51

my circumstance,

00:41:52--> 00:41:54

but in the story of Musa.

00:41:54--> 00:41:56

That Musa went through the same thing I'm

00:41:56--> 00:41:59

going through. It's the same story being repeated.

00:41:59--> 00:42:02

It's just different actors, Musa and now Muhammad.

00:42:03--> 00:42:03

Firaun,

00:42:04--> 00:42:04

Qaroon,

00:42:05--> 00:42:08

Haman. Here we have Abu Lahab, Abu Jahal,

00:42:08--> 00:42:10

and the other seniors of the Quraysh.

00:42:10--> 00:42:13

Same story, different actors. But Allah is teaching

00:42:13--> 00:42:15

the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam.

00:42:15--> 00:42:16

Musa is 1,

00:42:17--> 00:42:18

but the Firaun's

00:42:18--> 00:42:19

version

00:42:21--> 00:42:23

has a nuanced hecticness to it.

00:42:24--> 00:42:26

Allah says, and when he brought them the

00:42:26--> 00:42:26

truth

00:42:27--> 00:42:27

from

00:42:28--> 00:42:29

us, they said,

00:42:29--> 00:42:31

what we will do is kill the sons

00:42:31--> 00:42:33

of those who have believed with him, and

00:42:33--> 00:42:35

let's keep their women alive.

00:42:36--> 00:42:38

Qurayshwar at the stage of beating,

00:42:39--> 00:42:41

that whoever from our tribe accepts Islam, we

00:42:41--> 00:42:42

will beat them publicly,

00:42:43--> 00:42:46

so that anyone else thinking of following Muhammad

00:42:46--> 00:42:47

will become afraid.

00:42:48--> 00:42:50

But Firaoun and Qaroun and Haman, they went

00:42:50--> 00:42:52

a step further. That's it. Let's just kill

00:42:52--> 00:42:54

everyone who believes.

00:42:54--> 00:42:56

And as for the women, keep them alive,

00:42:56--> 00:42:58

we'll enslave them. Keep them alive.

00:42:59--> 00:43:00

Allah says,

00:43:03--> 00:43:05

But the plan of the disbelievers is not

00:43:05--> 00:43:07

accepting error in error.

00:43:27--> 00:43:31

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says, and Firaun said,

00:43:31--> 00:43:34

let me kill Musa and let him call

00:43:34--> 00:43:35

upon his lord.

00:43:36--> 00:43:37

Look at this level of arrogance.

00:43:39--> 00:43:41

Firon is saying, they are saying, kalas let's

00:43:41--> 00:43:42

kill all the people who believed with him

00:43:43--> 00:43:45

and let's keep the women alive. Firon says

00:43:45--> 00:43:46

one step further

00:43:46--> 00:43:48

let me kill Musa

00:43:48--> 00:43:50

and let him call upon his lord

00:43:50--> 00:43:52

indeed I fear that he will change your

00:43:52--> 00:43:55

religion or that he will cause corruption in

00:43:55--> 00:43:55

the land.

00:43:56--> 00:43:57

Now what do the scholars

00:43:58--> 00:44:00

of tafsir say here? This is the evidence

00:44:00--> 00:44:02

that they say, Firaun deep down knew that

00:44:02--> 00:44:04

this Musa is upon the truth.

00:44:05--> 00:44:07

That he had knowledge of what happened to

00:44:07--> 00:44:08

the previous nations.

00:44:10--> 00:44:11

And that they all received someone who came

00:44:11--> 00:44:13

with a call like what Musa is calling

00:44:13--> 00:44:14

to

00:44:15--> 00:44:17

but arrogance subhanAllah has no boundaries, Let me

00:44:17--> 00:44:19

kill him and let him call his Lord.

00:44:19--> 00:44:20

You want to manifest

00:44:21--> 00:44:22

a

00:44:22--> 00:44:23

pompous

00:44:24--> 00:44:26

character in front of the people show them

00:44:26--> 00:44:27

I'm in charge

00:44:27--> 00:44:29

what he's talking about is fairy tales I

00:44:29--> 00:44:30

will kill him in front of you and

00:44:30--> 00:44:32

let him call his lord nothing's going to

00:44:32--> 00:44:32

happen

00:44:33--> 00:44:34

Don't fall for this message.

00:44:46--> 00:44:48

But Musa said, indeed I have sought refuge

00:44:48--> 00:44:50

in my lord and your lord from every

00:44:50--> 00:44:51

arrogant one who does not believe in the

00:44:51--> 00:44:54

day of account, meaning the day of judgment.

00:45:15--> 00:45:17

Subhanallah, in a subtle way Allah is revealing

00:45:17--> 00:45:19

to the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam that

00:45:19--> 00:45:22

with every difficulty there's 2 eases. There's eases

00:45:22--> 00:45:23

even amidst the difficulty.

00:45:24--> 00:45:27

Because of Musa alaihis salam, when Firaun was

00:45:27--> 00:45:29

manifesting this

00:45:29--> 00:45:29

arrogance,

00:45:30--> 00:45:31

Allah says,

00:45:32--> 00:45:34

and a believing man from the family of

00:45:34--> 00:45:36

Iran. SubhanAllah.

00:45:38--> 00:45:40

He who believed but he hid his iman.

00:45:41--> 00:45:43

And some of the scholars of tafsir say

00:45:43--> 00:45:45

he was the one who at the beginning,

00:45:45--> 00:45:47

when Musa after Musa

00:45:47--> 00:45:49

grew up in the palace of Iran, and

00:45:49--> 00:45:52

then he punched a person in defending another

00:45:52--> 00:45:53

person and that person died. He was a

00:45:53--> 00:45:54

kibbuti.

00:45:54--> 00:45:56

And the Firaun and his army then

00:45:57--> 00:45:59

wanted to go after Musa. A person came

00:45:59--> 00:46:01

to Musa and told Musa that they are

00:46:02--> 00:46:04

grouping to come to to come for you,

00:46:04--> 00:46:06

so you better leave. They say it's the

00:46:06--> 00:46:06

same person.

00:46:06--> 00:46:08

There was a person who believed that no

00:46:08--> 00:46:11

one from the palace of Firaun believed except

00:46:11--> 00:46:12

his wife

00:46:13--> 00:46:14

and this man.

00:46:14--> 00:46:17

Subhanallah, the wife of Firaun and this man.

00:46:17--> 00:46:19

So this man speaks up now.

00:46:20--> 00:46:23

All this time, he's hiding his faith,

00:46:24--> 00:46:26

but right now a grave oppression is going

00:46:26--> 00:46:28

to take place. What the prophet sallallahu alaihi

00:46:28--> 00:46:30

wasallam said that the best jihad

00:46:30--> 00:46:31

is speaking

00:46:32--> 00:46:34

justice to in front of a tyrant ruler.

00:46:34--> 00:46:35

Why?

00:46:35--> 00:46:36

Because the tyrant ruler will kill you. You're

00:46:36--> 00:46:38

putting your life on the line, but it's

00:46:38--> 00:46:39

the best jihad.

00:46:40--> 00:46:41

And this yesterday I was saying that the

00:46:41--> 00:46:43

the word jihad has been confiscated

00:46:44--> 00:46:47

and has been made to to made to

00:46:47--> 00:46:48

be something taboo.

00:46:48--> 00:46:50

But we see this word in the Quran

00:46:50--> 00:46:53

before Allah allowed the Muslims to defend themselves

00:46:53--> 00:46:54

against the attacks of tukraj using the term

00:46:54--> 00:46:55

jihad.

00:46:58--> 00:47:01

And here, the prophet salallahu alayhi wasalam says

00:47:01--> 00:47:03

the best jihad, not taking out your sword,

00:47:03--> 00:47:05

taking out your arrows, taking out your shield,

00:47:05--> 00:47:06

wearing your armor,

00:47:06--> 00:47:08

no, speaking truth to power

00:47:09--> 00:47:11

is the best jihad. So this person here,

00:47:12--> 00:47:13

he was hiding his Iman

00:47:14--> 00:47:16

for a greater benefit, but now keeping your

00:47:16--> 00:47:17

Iman hidden

00:47:18--> 00:47:19

was not for the greater benefit. Now you

00:47:19--> 00:47:20

had to speak up.

00:47:21--> 00:47:23

Even though he didn't advertise his iman, he

00:47:23--> 00:47:25

came with a message of common sense. Allah

00:47:25--> 00:47:27

says, and a believing man from the family

00:47:27--> 00:47:29

of Firaun who concealed his faith said, are

00:47:29--> 00:47:30

you going to kill a man merely because

00:47:30--> 00:47:32

he says my lord is Allah?

00:47:33--> 00:47:35

And this is the same words Abu Bakr

00:47:35--> 00:47:35

used

00:47:36--> 00:47:38

when the Quraysh were attacking the prophet salallahu

00:47:38--> 00:47:40

alayhi wasalam at the Kaaba.

00:47:40--> 00:47:42

When he came and saved the prophet salallahu

00:47:42--> 00:47:44

alayhi wasalam, he said, attaktuluona

00:47:44--> 00:47:45

rajulanayaku

00:47:45--> 00:47:46

rabi'allalla. Are you going to

00:47:47--> 00:47:48

Allah.

00:47:50--> 00:47:50

SubhanAllah.

00:47:51--> 00:47:53

That's how close the Quran was to the

00:47:53--> 00:47:54

Sahaba. These are earlier,

00:47:54--> 00:47:56

revelations brothers and sisters.

00:47:57--> 00:47:58

So

00:47:59--> 00:48:01

Allah says that this is what he said.

00:48:02--> 00:48:03

And then this person said,

00:48:04--> 00:48:05

are you going to kill him merely because

00:48:05--> 00:48:07

he says my Lord is Allah, whilst he

00:48:07--> 00:48:09

has brought to you clear proofs from Allah,

00:48:09--> 00:48:11

did Musa come with nothing? Musa came with

00:48:11--> 00:48:12

a staff

00:48:13--> 00:48:14

that turned into

00:48:14--> 00:48:15

what they saw as a moving

00:48:16--> 00:48:17

snake,

00:48:18--> 00:48:19

a moving live being

00:48:20--> 00:48:22

If you put his arm under his armpit

00:48:22--> 00:48:23

it would shine. He came with science.

00:48:24--> 00:48:25

So this person is saying he has come

00:48:25--> 00:48:27

to you with clear proofs from your Lord

00:48:28--> 00:48:30

and what do you have to lose? If

00:48:30--> 00:48:31

he is lying

00:48:33--> 00:48:34

If he is lying then upon him is

00:48:34--> 00:48:36

the consequence of his lie but if he

00:48:36--> 00:48:37

is telling the truth

00:48:38--> 00:48:40

they will strike you some of what he

00:48:40--> 00:48:42

promises you. He's telling you, consequences are gonna

00:48:42--> 00:48:44

come. If he's telling the truth, some of

00:48:44--> 00:48:47

it's going to come. And indeed Allah does

00:48:47--> 00:48:48

not guide one who is a transgressor and

00:48:48--> 00:48:49

a liar,

00:48:49--> 00:48:50

subhanAllah.

00:48:50--> 00:48:51

Now,

00:49:04--> 00:49:06

He said, oh my people's sovereignty is yours

00:49:06--> 00:49:07

today,

00:49:07--> 00:49:09

you being dominant in the land, but who

00:49:09--> 00:49:11

would protect us on the punishment of Allah

00:49:11--> 00:49:13

if it came to us? What did Firan

00:49:13--> 00:49:14

say?

00:49:14--> 00:49:14

Nam.

00:49:25--> 00:49:27

He said Firaun said, I do not show

00:49:27--> 00:49:28

you except what I see, and I do

00:49:28--> 00:49:30

not guide you except to the way of

00:49:30--> 00:49:33

right conduct. This is what people who spread

00:49:33--> 00:49:35

corruption in the land to do. They spread

00:49:35--> 00:49:37

corruption on the land and they say, no.

00:49:37--> 00:49:38

No. No. No. We Muslimhood.

00:49:38--> 00:49:39

We only

00:49:41--> 00:49:42

we are liberators.

00:49:43--> 00:49:46

Yeah. We are here to take mankind forward.

00:49:47--> 00:49:48

We are progressive.

00:49:49--> 00:49:50

I say I shared these lines with you

00:49:50--> 00:49:51

previously

00:49:51--> 00:49:52

from Surat Al Baqarah.

00:49:53--> 00:49:55

This is what they do. This is

00:49:55--> 00:49:57

cognitive dissonance, this could be a lot of

00:49:57--> 00:49:58

things.

00:49:58--> 00:50:00

There's psychology to this.

00:50:01--> 00:50:01

Now,

00:50:10--> 00:50:12

And the one who believes said, oh my

00:50:12--> 00:50:14

people indeed I fear for you a fate

00:50:14--> 00:50:15

like the day of the companies, the Hazab,

00:50:15--> 00:50:16

the people of who?

00:50:21--> 00:50:22

Like the people of Nuh,

00:50:27--> 00:50:29

And Ad and Thamud and those who came

00:50:29--> 00:50:30

after them.

00:50:33--> 00:50:36

And Allah wants no injustice for his servants.

00:50:42--> 00:50:44

No. And all my people indeed I fear

00:50:44--> 00:50:46

for you the day of calling. At Tanad

00:50:46--> 00:50:48

here refers to Yomul Qiyamah, the day of

00:50:48--> 00:50:49

Qiyamah. Now,

00:50:59--> 00:51:02

The day you will turn your backs fleeing,

00:51:02--> 00:51:03

there is not for you from Allah any

00:51:03--> 00:51:06

protect and whoever Allah leaves astray, there is

00:51:06--> 00:51:08

not for him any guide. May Allah protect

00:51:08--> 00:51:09

us from

00:51:09--> 00:51:10

the difficulties

00:51:10--> 00:51:11

of the day of qiyama.

00:51:20--> 00:51:21

What does he say?

00:51:30--> 00:51:31

Firon said, oh, Haman,

00:51:32--> 00:51:34

construct for me a tall tower

00:51:34--> 00:51:36

that I might climb it

00:51:37--> 00:51:37

and reach

00:51:38--> 00:51:39

the ways of the heavens to go and

00:51:39--> 00:51:40

see?

00:51:46--> 00:51:48

So I can go into the heavens so

00:51:48--> 00:51:50

that I may look at this deity of

00:51:50--> 00:51:52

Musa. This deity is talking about build me

00:51:52--> 00:51:53

the tower, let me go and have a

00:51:53--> 00:51:54

look for myself.

00:51:55--> 00:51:57

Why my brothers and sisters in Islam,

00:51:58--> 00:52:00

when he is being drowned

00:52:02--> 00:52:03

and Jibril

00:52:04--> 00:52:05

is dealing with him

00:52:05--> 00:52:07

and the angel of death

00:52:07--> 00:52:09

is dealing with him and the water is

00:52:09--> 00:52:11

being poured down his throat.

00:52:11--> 00:52:12

It's for a reason.

00:52:14--> 00:52:16

And at that time he says, Alaaan,

00:52:16--> 00:52:17

now I believe.

00:52:18--> 00:52:20

Now I believe. He says, I believed.

00:52:21--> 00:52:22

He says I believe in the Lord of

00:52:22--> 00:52:23

Musa

00:52:24--> 00:52:26

Allah Now you believe but before this is

00:52:26--> 00:52:27

what you were doing

00:52:27--> 00:52:29

When we gave you the chance, this is

00:52:29--> 00:52:30

what you were doing.

00:52:30--> 00:52:33

Message after message, reminder after reminder, miracle after

00:52:33--> 00:52:35

miracle. We gave you time. It wasn't the

00:52:35--> 00:52:36

case that Musa came and the next day

00:52:36--> 00:52:37

the punishment came down.

00:52:38--> 00:52:40

You continued in your arrogance to the extent

00:52:40--> 00:52:42

build me a tower. You you you're ridiculing

00:52:42--> 00:52:44

Musa in front of the people.

00:52:44--> 00:52:46

Build me a tower so I can go

00:52:46--> 00:52:47

see this madman what he's talking about. I'll

00:52:47--> 00:52:48

I'll go see it myself.

00:53:11--> 00:53:12

In ruin.

00:53:19--> 00:53:21

And the one who believes said, oh my

00:53:21--> 00:53:23

people follow me. I will guide you to

00:53:23--> 00:53:24

the way of righteous conduct.

00:53:36--> 00:53:38

Oh, my people, the worldly life is only

00:53:38--> 00:53:40

temporary enjoyment, and indeed the hereafter,

00:53:41--> 00:53:43

that is the home of permanent settlement.

00:53:43--> 00:53:45

I will leave you to read the remaining,

00:53:48--> 00:53:49

ayat from this.

00:53:50--> 00:53:51

But this message is coming to the prophet

00:53:51--> 00:53:52

sallallahu alaihi wa sallam.

00:53:53--> 00:53:55

And Allah is teaching him that not only

00:53:55--> 00:53:57

did Musa share the message, but even a

00:53:57--> 00:54:00

person from within Firon's own family is sharing

00:54:00--> 00:54:01

the same message.

00:54:01--> 00:54:03

Telling the people, put your trust in the

00:54:03--> 00:54:06

hereafter, not the dunya. Look at the permanent,

00:54:06--> 00:54:07

not the temporary.

00:54:07--> 00:54:08

And the way of the arrogant

00:54:09--> 00:54:10

is known.

00:54:10--> 00:54:13

Oh, messenger of Allah, remain upon your way.

00:54:13--> 00:54:15

Oh, believer, remain upon your way. Oh, Muslim,

00:54:15--> 00:54:18

remain upon your way. Everybody will make you

00:54:18--> 00:54:19

feel backward.

00:54:19--> 00:54:22

They will a time will come where you

00:54:22--> 00:54:23

holding on to your religion will be like

00:54:23--> 00:54:25

holding on to burning coal as the prophet

00:54:25--> 00:54:27

sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said. It'll be so

00:54:27--> 00:54:28

difficult,

00:54:29--> 00:54:31

but the verses are training you that whatever

00:54:31--> 00:54:33

happens, die a Muslim. May Allah make us

00:54:33--> 00:54:34

die as believers

00:54:34--> 00:54:36

and our children and progeny.

00:54:37--> 00:54:39

Whatever happens, just die a Muslim.

00:54:42--> 00:54:45

Whatever happens, make sure you don't break, leave

00:54:45--> 00:54:46

the rope of Allah.

00:54:47--> 00:54:50

This is the message throughout the Quran. And

00:54:50--> 00:54:52

then Allah takes us to Surah Fussilat.

00:54:52--> 00:54:55

Maq and verse again. Like I said, dosages

00:54:55--> 00:54:57

of verses, they're very potent

00:54:57--> 00:54:59

in dealing with doubts.

00:55:00--> 00:55:03

You need they say sometimes you need steroids.

00:55:03--> 00:55:04

Doctors,

00:55:04--> 00:55:07

Taib, there's so many noticeable verses first

00:55:08--> 00:55:10

but because of time I'm gonna just go

00:55:10--> 00:55:12

through them quickly. I know we have work

00:55:12--> 00:55:13

tomorrow as well

00:55:13--> 00:55:15

But we won't get these verses for another

00:55:15--> 00:55:17

year, Subhan Allah. Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says

00:55:17--> 00:55:18

in Surah Fussilat,

00:55:26--> 00:55:28

And that was your assumption which you assumed

00:55:28--> 00:55:30

about your lord, It has brought you to

00:55:30--> 00:55:32

ruin and you have become amongst the losers.

00:55:32--> 00:55:34

Imam Hassan al Basri was asked about this

00:55:34--> 00:55:35

verse

00:55:35--> 00:55:37

and he said some people of worship,

00:55:37--> 00:55:38

some

00:55:39--> 00:55:39

people

00:55:40--> 00:55:40

of worship,

00:55:41--> 00:55:44

they don't worship Allah, they worship wishful thinking.

00:55:44--> 00:55:46

To the extent that they leave this world

00:55:46--> 00:55:48

without one good deed.

00:55:48--> 00:55:51

What do they say? They say, have good

00:55:51--> 00:55:53

thoughts about Allah. Everything is in my heart.

00:55:53--> 00:55:55

You can't see what's in my heart.

00:55:57--> 00:55:59

You call them to some guidance, brother don't

00:55:59--> 00:56:00

judge me.

00:56:01--> 00:56:02

I have good thoughts about Allah. I have

00:56:02--> 00:56:04

good thoughts about Allah. Remember we said if

00:56:04--> 00:56:07

you flap the wing of hope without the

00:56:07--> 00:56:08

wing of fear, what's going to happen to

00:56:08--> 00:56:09

the dove?

00:56:09--> 00:56:10

It's going to crash.

00:56:11--> 00:56:12

Imam Hassan al Basri

00:56:13--> 00:56:15

explaining this verse in the Quran,

00:56:15--> 00:56:16

he said

00:56:16--> 00:56:19

if these people really had good thoughts about

00:56:19--> 00:56:21

Allah, they would have worshiped Allah with actions

00:56:21--> 00:56:22

not with their heart.

00:56:23--> 00:56:25

That having good thoughts about Allah

00:56:25--> 00:56:27

is putting into practice what the messenger came

00:56:27--> 00:56:30

to you with, putting into practice what Allah

00:56:30--> 00:56:32

commanded you to do. This is about what

00:56:32--> 00:56:33

what having good thoughts about Allah

00:56:34--> 00:56:36

means. Number 2,

00:56:39--> 00:56:40

Allah says, walatastawil

00:56:40--> 00:56:41

hasanatawalasayyah,

00:56:41--> 00:56:42

idfarabilatiya

00:56:43--> 00:56:44

ahsan faydalladi

00:56:44--> 00:56:45

baynaqaw baynaqawaqannahuwaliyunhamim,

00:56:47--> 00:56:48

and this is good for the day of

00:56:48--> 00:56:49

Eid that's coming.

00:56:50--> 00:56:52

Because sometimes we have families, subhanAllah,

00:56:52--> 00:56:54

that are at war with each other, and

00:56:54--> 00:56:56

the reeds come and go, and they still

00:56:56--> 00:56:58

don't even talk to each other, they don't

00:56:58--> 00:56:59

even greet each other,

00:56:59--> 00:57:01

they don't even respond to the salaam of

00:57:01--> 00:57:03

each other, or they choose to be with

00:57:03--> 00:57:06

each other in a very petty way. If

00:57:06--> 00:57:08

you scratch my back, I will scratch your

00:57:08--> 00:57:10

back. If you did this for my family,

00:57:10--> 00:57:11

I will do this for your family.

00:57:12--> 00:57:13

It's transactionary,

00:57:14--> 00:57:16

and this is not the way with the

00:57:16--> 00:57:16

believers.

00:57:17--> 00:57:18

And Allah

00:57:18--> 00:57:20

says with regards to an enemy

00:57:21--> 00:57:22

that you need to

00:57:23--> 00:57:24

respond

00:57:24--> 00:57:25

to the harm,

00:57:25--> 00:57:28

you need to repel the evil with a

00:57:28--> 00:57:29

deed which is better.

00:57:33--> 00:57:33

Continue

00:57:33--> 00:57:35

repelling the evil with goodness.

00:57:37--> 00:57:38

For idalladhibaynaqawbaynaqu

00:57:39--> 00:57:40

a dawah.

00:57:40--> 00:57:41

Allah says,

00:57:43--> 00:57:46

thereupon the one womb between you and him

00:57:46--> 00:57:46

is enmity,

00:57:47--> 00:57:49

that enmity will turn into friendship and you'll

00:57:49--> 00:57:51

become devoted friends again.

00:57:52--> 00:57:54

But Allah tells us this is not easy.

00:57:54--> 00:57:54

He says,

00:57:57--> 00:57:59

No one can do this except the one

00:57:59--> 00:58:00

who is patient.

00:58:01--> 00:58:03

That you can be patient with your nafs.

00:58:03--> 00:58:05

You know what happens when you want

00:58:05--> 00:58:07

to respond nicely? The nafs tells you, no

00:58:07--> 00:58:08

no no no no no no. People will

00:58:08--> 00:58:09

say you're weak.

00:58:10--> 00:58:11

People will say you see you are wrong,

00:58:11--> 00:58:12

they were right.

00:58:13--> 00:58:15

That's what the people will say. The people

00:58:15--> 00:58:17

will say you're weak. Look, this person kicks

00:58:17--> 00:58:18

you and you run where you get kicks.

00:58:18--> 00:58:19

Have you heard that one? Every time you

00:58:19--> 00:58:21

get kicks, that's where you run.

00:58:21--> 00:58:23

That's what the people will say. You need

00:58:23--> 00:58:24

patience to fight that ego.

00:58:25--> 00:58:27

There's ego. You need patience to fight the

00:58:27--> 00:58:28

whispers of the people.

00:58:28--> 00:58:30

You need patience to fight the whispers of

00:58:30--> 00:58:30

shaitan,

00:58:31--> 00:58:32

to do the right thing because it's right

00:58:32--> 00:58:35

with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. And Allah says

00:58:40--> 00:58:43

that only the fortunate blessed one can achieve

00:58:43--> 00:58:46

this converting enemies into friends. And this was

00:58:46--> 00:58:48

the mandate of Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam.

00:58:49--> 00:58:52

How many hated him subhanallah but they became

00:58:52--> 00:58:52

his best

00:58:53--> 00:58:54

and closest.

00:58:54--> 00:58:56

He was became the most beloved to them.

00:58:57--> 00:58:58

What they did against Islam, they did for

00:58:58--> 00:59:01

Islam. Whilst he was alive and after he

00:59:01--> 00:59:03

passed away, Khalid ibn Walid who orchestrated the

00:59:03--> 00:59:06

turnaround of events at Uhud, he was instrumental

00:59:06--> 00:59:08

towards the end of the Prophet sallallahu alaihi

00:59:08--> 00:59:10

wasallam's life and throughout the life of Abu

00:59:10--> 00:59:12

Bakr. And even in the life of Umar,

00:59:13--> 00:59:14

even after Umar took him out of leading

00:59:14--> 00:59:16

the army and replaced him with Abu Ubaydha

00:59:16--> 00:59:18

ibn Jarrah, the Amin of this Umar radiAllahu

00:59:18--> 00:59:19

anhu Majjibani.

00:59:20--> 00:59:22

This is the reality of the deen. So

00:59:22--> 00:59:23

I want to share with you this message.

00:59:23--> 00:59:25

Last but not least, and I know it's

00:59:25--> 00:59:27

late, but we are going to go into

00:59:27--> 00:59:28

the last third of the night, and you

00:59:28--> 00:59:30

need to go with this verse. Subhanallah.

00:59:30--> 00:59:33

The verse of Istiqaamah, in Surat Al Fussilat.

00:59:33--> 00:59:36

Istiqaamah, my dear brother and sister in Islam

00:59:36--> 00:59:38

is very, very hard.

00:59:39--> 00:59:39

Steadfastness

00:59:40--> 00:59:41

is very very hard.

00:59:41--> 00:59:42

Why?

00:59:42--> 00:59:44

Because it's an everyday matter,

00:59:44--> 00:59:47

and it's an every night matter. It needs

00:59:47--> 00:59:49

from you juhud and effort.

00:59:49--> 00:59:51

It needs from you

00:59:52--> 00:59:53

you to spend a bit of yourself,

00:59:54--> 00:59:55

to give up parts of yourself.

00:59:56--> 00:59:59

But because it's so hard, Allah makes the

00:59:59--> 01:00:00

reward with it worth it.

01:00:01--> 01:00:03

Because Allah created us and there's this universal

01:00:03--> 01:00:06

principle that governs this world. Reward is proportionate

01:00:06--> 01:00:07

to effort.

01:00:07--> 01:00:09

If the effort is hard, we need a

01:00:09--> 01:00:11

reward that is worth the effort.

01:00:11--> 01:00:13

I mean, if I told you all here,

01:00:13--> 01:00:15

who from here can walk all the way

01:00:15--> 01:00:18

to London in the middle of winter for

01:00:18--> 01:00:19

a £1,000?

01:00:19--> 01:00:20

Just walk £1,000.

01:00:21--> 01:00:23

I'll give you £1,000. You get to London

01:00:23--> 01:00:24

but you have to walk there.

01:00:25--> 01:00:25

Anybody?

01:00:25--> 01:00:26

£1,000.

01:00:27--> 01:00:27

One guy.

01:00:28--> 01:00:31

2. This is Masjid donations by the way.

01:00:33--> 01:00:34

Hands are going up.

01:00:35--> 01:00:36

£1,000.

01:00:36--> 01:00:39

They say money has relative value.

01:00:39--> 01:00:41

Only time has absolute value.

01:00:42--> 01:00:42

£1,000

01:00:42--> 01:00:44

is can be little for the majority, but

01:00:44--> 01:00:45

it's a lot for a few. Yeah. He's

01:00:45--> 01:00:47

willing to go to walking to London in

01:00:47--> 01:00:47

the middle of winter,

01:00:48--> 01:00:50

Okay. 1,000 is not, masha'Allah,

01:00:51--> 01:00:52

tickling you guys.

01:00:53--> 01:00:55

£10,000. Put up your hands. £10,000.

01:00:57--> 01:00:58

More hands are going up. A few more

01:00:58--> 01:00:59

hands.

01:00:59--> 01:01:00

A £100,000,

01:01:00--> 01:01:01

Say Allah.

01:01:03--> 01:01:04

Even some of the adults

01:01:05--> 01:01:06

are raising their hands. A 100,000,

01:01:07--> 01:01:08

Life is harder.

01:01:10--> 01:01:11

Alright. £10,000,000,

01:01:11--> 01:01:12

the last offer.

01:01:13--> 01:01:15

Masha, double. 2 hands.

01:01:15--> 01:01:17

You see what happens, guys?

01:01:25--> 01:01:27

I love this. Now I'm putting myself in

01:01:27--> 01:01:28

a difficult spot.

01:01:29--> 01:01:30

It's your day. You see, look how the

01:01:30--> 01:01:32

hands are going up.

01:01:32--> 01:01:35

Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala wants us to be

01:01:35--> 01:01:36

people of istaqamah, but he knows

01:01:38--> 01:01:40

the task might set us back.

01:01:41--> 01:01:43

So he reveals in surah Fussilab that which

01:01:43--> 01:01:44

will pick us up and remember Maq converts,

01:01:44--> 01:01:46

Muslims are going through the grind,

01:01:47--> 01:01:49

they're going through the grind, they're being sanctioned

01:01:49--> 01:01:51

for 3 years in a valley no food,

01:01:51--> 01:01:52

no water, no drink,

01:01:53--> 01:01:54

no trade, no medicine,

01:01:55--> 01:01:58

The milk in the chest of mothers is

01:01:58--> 01:01:58

drying up,

01:01:59--> 01:02:01

babies are crying, they're going through the grind

01:02:01--> 01:02:03

only for la ilaha illallah, Allah reveals.

01:02:06--> 01:02:08

Allah says, indeed those who say,

01:02:11--> 01:02:12

Our Lord is Allah.

01:02:14--> 01:02:16

Those who say our Lord is Allah,

01:02:19--> 01:02:21

and then they walk the talk. I'm going

01:02:21--> 01:02:23

to try and use language that's good for

01:02:23--> 01:02:23

the Shabab.

01:02:24--> 01:02:25

They walk the talk.

01:02:25--> 01:02:27

They said the lord is is Allah,

01:02:28--> 01:02:29

and they started acting like the lord is

01:02:29--> 01:02:31

Allah. They started speaking like their Lord is

01:02:31--> 01:02:33

Allah. None of the swearing that we see

01:02:33--> 01:02:35

going around here. What's up, guys?

01:02:35--> 01:02:38

Schools, and buses, and parks, and kids swearing

01:02:38--> 01:02:41

like it's fashion. This is not from iman

01:02:41--> 01:02:41

and Islam.

01:02:44--> 01:02:46

So you said your lord is Allah, you

01:02:46--> 01:02:48

started speaking like your lord is Allah, You

01:02:48--> 01:02:49

started acting like your lord is Allah. You

01:02:49--> 01:02:51

started eating like your lord is Allah.

01:02:52--> 01:02:52

SubhanAllah.

01:02:54--> 01:02:56

Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala tells us that the

01:02:56--> 01:02:59

on the most scariest day of your life,

01:03:00--> 01:03:02

the most scariest part of your existence,

01:03:03--> 01:03:04

when no one can help you and you

01:03:04--> 01:03:06

need all the help you can get,

01:03:07--> 01:03:08

for the people of istaqam, my help will

01:03:08--> 01:03:10

come. When is the scariest day?

01:03:11--> 01:03:12

When you are sat in a gathering

01:03:14--> 01:03:16

and suddenly you see

01:03:16--> 01:03:18

from the creation of Allah

01:03:18--> 01:03:20

that which you used to hear about from

01:03:20--> 01:03:20

the mimbar

01:03:21--> 01:03:22

or in a lecture.

01:03:23--> 01:03:24

And you will look around you and see

01:03:24--> 01:03:26

everyone is carrying on normally. He's eating his

01:03:26--> 01:03:29

sandwich, he's drinking his mint tea,

01:03:30--> 01:03:32

He's carrying on with his work.

01:03:33--> 01:03:35

Everyone's carrying on, but you suddenly are filled

01:03:35--> 01:03:38

with fear. Why? Because Allah has lifted the

01:03:38--> 01:03:38

veil,

01:03:39--> 01:03:41

Because your time to die has arrived.

01:03:41--> 01:03:43

So you can see something that no one

01:03:43--> 01:03:44

else can see.

01:03:46--> 01:03:47

That's a scary moment.

01:03:48--> 01:03:50

And then you will start experiencing

01:03:50--> 01:03:53

the reality that you are owned

01:03:53--> 01:03:56

when you feel life being sucked out from

01:03:56--> 01:03:57

you and you have no ability to put

01:03:57--> 01:03:58

it back up.

01:03:59--> 01:04:00

Subhanallah.

01:04:01--> 01:04:02

How scary will that be?

01:04:04--> 01:04:05

Because Allah will

01:04:05--> 01:04:07

give the angel of death the permission and

01:04:07--> 01:04:09

he will call the soul out and that

01:04:09--> 01:04:11

soul that we spoke about will start leaving.

01:04:11--> 01:04:13

And you will see yourself

01:04:14--> 01:04:16

slowly but surely becoming lifeless.

01:04:18--> 01:04:19

Now my dear brother and sister in Islam,

01:04:19--> 01:04:21

is this a happy moment or a scary

01:04:21--> 01:04:22

moment?

01:04:23--> 01:04:25

What would you pay to receive happiness at

01:04:25--> 01:04:27

this time? You pay everything, I imagine.

01:04:27--> 01:04:30

You'd give your family, your home, your wealth,

01:04:30--> 01:04:30

you'll give everything.

01:04:32--> 01:04:33

What would you pay?

01:04:33--> 01:04:34

Allah

01:04:35--> 01:04:37

tells us about the rewards of the people

01:04:37--> 01:04:38

of Istiqaamah. Listen to this.

01:04:39--> 01:04:40

Allah says,

01:05:17--> 01:05:18

walakumfihama

01:05:19--> 01:05:20

taddarunnuzulam

01:05:24--> 01:05:24

min ghafurirrahim.

01:05:27--> 01:05:28

Wallahi, if you are in a sanctioned

01:05:29--> 01:05:29

valley

01:05:30--> 01:05:30

for 3 years,

01:05:31--> 01:05:32

going through the hell of existence,

01:05:33--> 01:05:34

and these verses come to you,

01:05:35--> 01:05:37

you receive motivation to last.

01:05:38--> 01:05:41

Allah says, at the time that I described

01:05:41--> 01:05:43

to you when all this is happening, for

01:05:43--> 01:05:44

the people of istiqama,

01:05:45--> 01:05:45

tatanazalu

01:05:46--> 01:05:47

alahihimul manaika,

01:05:48--> 01:05:51

Allah will send angels in droves from heaven

01:05:51--> 01:05:53

to surround the body, your body.

01:05:56--> 01:05:59

They will come and surround your body in

01:05:59--> 01:06:01

wait for the soul to be removed out.

01:06:01--> 01:06:02

Oh, servants of Allah,

01:06:03--> 01:06:05

what would you pay to see angels from

01:06:05--> 01:06:07

Jannah around you at that moment?

01:06:08--> 01:06:08

That Alhamdulillah

01:06:09--> 01:06:09

SubhanAllah,

01:06:10--> 01:06:11

scary but

01:06:15--> 01:06:16

And Allah says tatanazal,

01:06:17--> 01:06:19

present tense, meaning these angels will come in

01:06:19--> 01:06:22

droves, and The scholars of hadith and tafsir,

01:06:22--> 01:06:23

those who explain the hadith in the muslimat

01:06:23--> 01:06:25

of Imam Ahmad, because we have a long

01:06:25--> 01:06:27

hadith in the muslimat of Imam Ahmad that

01:06:27--> 01:06:29

describes the death of a believer and a

01:06:29--> 01:06:29

disbeliever.

01:06:41--> 01:06:43

They fill the atmosphere

01:06:43--> 01:06:45

with the fragrance of Jannah,

01:06:45--> 01:06:47

in their presence with the permission of Allah

01:06:48--> 01:06:50

to receive the soul of this person. In

01:06:50--> 01:06:52

the Muslim of Imam Ahmed, when the soul

01:06:52--> 01:06:53

comes out,

01:06:53--> 01:06:56

the angels from Jannah immediately take it from

01:06:56--> 01:06:57

the angel of death. They do not leave

01:06:57--> 01:06:59

it in his hand for a mere split

01:06:59--> 01:06:59

second.

01:07:01--> 01:07:03

That's how excited they are from for to

01:07:03--> 01:07:05

to receive the soul. And then the soul

01:07:05--> 01:07:06

is transferred

01:07:07--> 01:07:08

between the rows of angels,

01:07:08--> 01:07:11

just like I imagine, you know, a football

01:07:11--> 01:07:12

match when you win the premier league or

01:07:12--> 01:07:14

something. You see they carry the manager and

01:07:14--> 01:07:17

they transferring the manager one. You you know,

01:07:17--> 01:07:18

when you see that,

01:07:18--> 01:07:21

The soul is being transferred. Every angel is

01:07:21--> 01:07:22

trying to touch it.

01:07:22--> 01:07:24

Every angel wants to be part of the

01:07:24--> 01:07:24

celebration,

01:07:25--> 01:07:27

And like this, the soul goes higher and

01:07:27--> 01:07:29

higher and higher until it gets to the

01:07:29--> 01:07:31

first heaven and awaits permission

01:07:31--> 01:07:33

to enter, until the body is buried before

01:07:33--> 01:07:35

Allah sends it back to the body. But

01:07:35--> 01:07:38

that's a discussion for another day. Tatanazloo

01:07:38--> 01:07:41

alayhimul malaika, gift number 1 for the people

01:07:41--> 01:07:41

of Istikamah.

01:07:43--> 01:07:44

Allah takafu

01:07:44--> 01:07:44

walatakazano

01:07:45--> 01:07:46

SubhanAllah.

01:07:46--> 01:07:48

When I was reading these verses, I was

01:07:48--> 01:07:48

thinking,

01:07:49--> 01:07:52

what life moment can I connect to this

01:07:53--> 01:07:54

that brought me great fear

01:07:55--> 01:07:57

and I would have loved to receive

01:07:57--> 01:07:59

something to breathe with at that moment?

01:08:00--> 01:08:02

And I could only think about GCSEs,

01:08:02--> 01:08:03

forgive me.

01:08:04--> 01:08:06

GCSEs, I mean, not now, now it's easier,

01:08:06--> 01:08:08

but back in the days, subhanallah, the stress

01:08:08--> 01:08:09

of GCSEs

01:08:10--> 01:08:10

was hectic.

01:08:11--> 01:08:12

We were always told

01:08:13--> 01:08:15

that this is the yardstick between being a

01:08:15--> 01:08:17

sweeper and a doctor.

01:08:17--> 01:08:19

This is how we were brought up. Mental

01:08:19--> 01:08:20

health wasn't a thing when we were growing

01:08:20--> 01:08:22

up young boys and girls. Our parents just

01:08:22--> 01:08:24

told us as it is.

01:08:25--> 01:08:27

So as we were getting towards g c

01:08:27--> 01:08:29

s, we were thinking, subhanallah, this is make

01:08:29--> 01:08:30

or break.

01:08:30--> 01:08:32

This is me whether I'm going to be

01:08:32--> 01:08:34

that dream car I have when we're teenagers,

01:08:34--> 01:08:35

we have a lot of dream cars,

01:08:36--> 01:08:37

or whether I'm going to be driving somebody

01:08:37--> 01:08:39

else's dream car.

01:08:40--> 01:08:41

Lots of stress.

01:08:42--> 01:08:43

And then you go through the grind of

01:08:43--> 01:08:46

exam after exam after exam to which should

01:08:46--> 01:08:48

last across 3 months sometimes

01:08:48--> 01:08:49

or 2 months.

01:08:50--> 01:08:51

Depends when the schedule is, how many subjects

01:08:51--> 01:08:53

you're taking and when the timetable

01:08:54--> 01:08:56

caters for your subjects. And then it finishes,

01:08:56--> 01:08:59

subhanallah, and you feel elation, but not complete

01:08:59--> 01:09:01

elation because you know one day you're gonna

01:09:01--> 01:09:03

be told that the results are out and

01:09:03--> 01:09:05

it would happen. One day you're nicely resting

01:09:05--> 01:09:06

and your parents come to you with the

01:09:06--> 01:09:08

newspaper. Where I was growing up, when the

01:09:08--> 01:09:10

results came out, it should be the front

01:09:10--> 01:09:11

page of the newspaper.

01:09:11--> 01:09:13

GCSE results are out. We used to do

01:09:13--> 01:09:14

o levels. I didn't grow up in the

01:09:14--> 01:09:17

UK. O level is similar to GCSEs but

01:09:17--> 01:09:17

it's the Cambridge,

01:09:19--> 01:09:19

curriculum.

01:09:20--> 01:09:20

Similar.

01:09:22--> 01:09:24

Subhanallah, you see this newspaper. All of a

01:09:24--> 01:09:27

sudden you feel stress overcome you. Your bright

01:09:27--> 01:09:29

face from all the playing becomes dark

01:09:30--> 01:09:31

because now you have to go into and

01:09:31--> 01:09:34

before you you didn't go to a computer

01:09:34--> 01:09:35

screen putting the code. I don't know how

01:09:35--> 01:09:36

it is now. Back then we had to

01:09:36--> 01:09:38

go to an exam center, stand in a

01:09:38--> 01:09:41

queue, and honestly you're standing in that queue

01:09:41--> 01:09:43

and it feels like, is this the day

01:09:43--> 01:09:44

of qiyama on earth?

01:09:45--> 01:09:48

Really? You're sweating, literally everyone is sweating, nobody

01:09:48--> 01:09:50

cares about anybody, nobody cares whose clothes is

01:09:50--> 01:09:52

iron, not iron, who's wearing clothes from last

01:09:52--> 01:09:54

year, nobody cares.

01:09:54--> 01:09:56

Everybody's in their own worry. This is I

01:09:56--> 01:09:57

remember this. This is how it was.

01:09:58--> 01:10:00

You're standing and all you are, you're a

01:10:00--> 01:10:00

number

01:10:01--> 01:10:02

amongst many numbers.

01:10:02--> 01:10:04

Now the person in front of you goes

01:10:04--> 01:10:05

in, he comes out crying, you say, you

01:10:05--> 01:10:07

Allah, save me from being that person, you

01:10:07--> 01:10:08

Allah.

01:10:08--> 01:10:10

The other one comes out smiling, you say,

01:10:10--> 01:10:11

insha Allah, but it makes you more nervous

01:10:11--> 01:10:13

that he won. What about my parents will

01:10:13--> 01:10:14

say how did he get those results? You

01:10:14--> 01:10:16

didn't get this is life, Yaqi, when you're

01:10:16--> 01:10:17

growing up.

01:10:19--> 01:10:21

Now I'm thinking to myself, at that moment

01:10:21--> 01:10:23

when I was in that line,

01:10:23--> 01:10:26

it would have meant everything to me if

01:10:26--> 01:10:29

someone came out of that exam room, walked

01:10:29--> 01:10:30

up to me, saw me sweating,

01:10:31--> 01:10:33

and said to me in my ear, don't

01:10:33--> 01:10:34

worry, you've passed.

01:10:34--> 01:10:36

Don't worry. It's all good. I've seen your

01:10:36--> 01:10:37

results. You're okay.

01:10:38--> 01:10:40

Allah, if somebody did that to me at

01:10:40--> 01:10:41

that moment, I'll be like,

01:10:44--> 01:10:46

let's see who we have here now. Look

01:10:46--> 01:10:46

at the people,

01:10:47--> 01:10:49

All the stress is gone. You have time

01:10:49--> 01:10:51

to live life a little bit. You are

01:10:51--> 01:10:53

existing, now you start living.

01:10:53--> 01:10:55

Allah is giving you this

01:10:55--> 01:10:56

opportunity,

01:10:56--> 01:10:59

the opportunity of angels coming to you and

01:10:59--> 01:10:59

saying,

01:11:00--> 01:11:02

the angels will tell the dying person, do

01:11:02--> 01:11:03

not fear.

01:11:04--> 01:11:05

Do not be sad.

01:11:07--> 01:11:08

Do not be sad.

01:11:10--> 01:11:11

This is what's happening effectively.

01:11:12--> 01:11:13

And I was thinking about this

01:11:14--> 01:11:15

this is also in

01:11:16--> 01:11:18

the present tense. What did we say about

01:11:18--> 01:11:20

the present tense? It's always continuous.

01:11:20--> 01:11:22

Then I was thinking to myself, subhanAllah,

01:11:23--> 01:11:24

even happiness

01:11:25--> 01:11:25

has levels

01:11:26--> 01:11:28

and in between the levels of happiness you

01:11:28--> 01:11:30

have sadness, not so? I mean if I

01:11:30--> 01:11:31

told you guys now guys

01:11:32--> 01:11:33

I give you 2 options,

01:11:34--> 01:11:36

you can win 1 of 2 holidays,

01:11:36--> 01:11:37

1 in the Maldives

01:11:38--> 01:11:38

and 1

01:11:39--> 01:11:40

in the Lake District.

01:11:41--> 01:11:42

Why

01:11:42--> 01:11:44

why are you laughing? Lake District's nice.

01:11:46--> 01:11:48

Lake District's good, man. Come on.

01:11:49--> 01:11:49

Tayeb,

01:11:50--> 01:11:52

would you be happy going to Lake District?

01:11:53--> 01:11:53

Yes.

01:11:54--> 01:11:57

No. Yes. Who wouldn't be? Free holiday. Come

01:11:57--> 01:11:57

on.

01:11:58--> 01:11:59

Would you be happy going to Maldives?

01:12:00--> 01:12:00

No.

01:12:01--> 01:12:02

No. Okay, you're out of the equation.

01:12:04--> 01:12:05

You're out of the equation Habibi.

01:12:06--> 01:12:08

You haven't tasted life, when you taste it

01:12:08--> 01:12:08

you

01:12:09--> 01:12:10

you change your answer. It might be too

01:12:10--> 01:12:12

late then but we give you time.

01:12:13--> 01:12:14

Now going to Lake District makes you happy,

01:12:14--> 01:12:15

right?

01:12:15--> 01:12:16

But Maldives

01:12:17--> 01:12:18

makes you happier, correct?

01:12:19--> 01:12:21

Between happy and happier isn't there a portion

01:12:21--> 01:12:21

of sadness?

01:12:23--> 01:12:24

Imagine I called you up after 1 month

01:12:24--> 01:12:25

and you were excited

01:12:26--> 01:12:27

and I called you up say Masha Allah

01:12:27--> 01:12:30

congratulations brother you won a trip to Lake

01:12:30--> 01:12:30

District

01:12:31--> 01:12:33

Would you be happy or sad?

01:12:34--> 01:12:36

Sad. So between happy and happy this happier,

01:12:36--> 01:12:38

there's a piece of sadness. Not so?

01:12:40--> 01:12:42

Are you with me? Allah says,

01:12:43--> 01:12:44

in the present tense,

01:12:45--> 01:12:47

meaning you will never ever ever ever be

01:12:47--> 01:12:50

sad. And I can only deduce from this

01:12:50--> 01:12:51

that the place that you'll be going to

01:12:51--> 01:12:52

is a place where

01:12:53--> 01:12:55

the happy moment you feel now is very

01:12:55--> 01:12:57

happy, but the next moment will be happier

01:12:57--> 01:12:59

than the last happy, and the moment after

01:12:59--> 01:13:01

that will be happier than the last happy,

01:13:01--> 01:13:03

and the moment after that will be happier

01:13:03--> 01:13:04

than the last happy. It can only be

01:13:04--> 01:13:06

because if it was any less happy, then

01:13:06--> 01:13:07

you'd be sad.

01:13:07--> 01:13:09

And Allah is saying, la taz and there's

01:13:09--> 01:13:11

no sadness where you're going.

01:13:11--> 01:13:12

Subhanallah,

01:13:13--> 01:13:15

I'm digressing but I want you to really

01:13:15--> 01:13:16

appreciate these verses of Allah.

01:13:17--> 01:13:18

Okay.

01:13:19--> 01:13:21

So Allah sends you angels from Jannah. If

01:13:21--> 01:13:23

you're the people of Istikamah, wouldn't this be

01:13:23--> 01:13:24

enough for you? Of course, you would say

01:13:24--> 01:13:27

yes. Okay. The angels tell you don't be

01:13:27--> 01:13:28

afraid.

01:13:28--> 01:13:30

Subhanallah, bonus. Walatahasanoo,

01:13:31--> 01:13:33

you'll never ever be sad, bonus. Now I

01:13:33--> 01:13:34

imagine you in the queue, you got your

01:13:34--> 01:13:36

results. What's the next thing you're gonna think

01:13:36--> 01:13:38

about? The person didn't tell you whether you

01:13:38--> 01:13:40

got a's or b's, he just said you

01:13:40--> 01:13:40

passed.

01:13:41--> 01:13:42

So what's the next thing you think about

01:13:42--> 01:13:43

now?

01:13:43--> 01:13:45

How well did I pass?

01:13:45--> 01:13:46

Did I get a stars?

01:13:47--> 01:13:49

Or is it numbers now? Nines, eights?

01:13:50--> 01:13:52

That's what you start thinking. Allah tells the

01:13:52--> 01:13:53

angels to tell the dying person.

01:13:56--> 01:13:58

Allah has promised you the Jannah.

01:13:59--> 01:14:01

Allah has given you the Jannah that he

01:14:01--> 01:14:03

promised you. You're worrying about results which school

01:14:03--> 01:14:05

you're gonna go to, that school needed so

01:14:05--> 01:14:07

many nines, that school needed so many eights.

01:14:07--> 01:14:09

Don't even think about that. Allah

01:14:09--> 01:14:11

told us to tell you the Jannah that

01:14:11--> 01:14:12

he promised you that's the Jannah he's given

01:14:12--> 01:14:15

you. The Jannah you are working for that's

01:14:15--> 01:14:16

the Jannah he has given you.

01:14:17--> 01:14:17

Subhanallah.

01:14:18--> 01:14:20

Okay. What's the next thing you think about?

01:14:20--> 01:14:21

Maybe you feel a bit

01:14:21--> 01:14:23

sad. I'm leaving my family.

01:14:25--> 01:14:26

In the dunya whenever we travel to a

01:14:26--> 01:14:28

new place sometimes you feel butterflies in your

01:14:28--> 01:14:30

stomach, it's natural. You go to a place,

01:14:30--> 01:14:32

maybe people scare you about this place,

01:14:33--> 01:14:35

You're on a charity mission, for example. You're

01:14:35--> 01:14:37

going to a place that doesn't have the

01:14:37--> 01:14:38

facilities and the amenities.

01:14:39--> 01:14:41

You have literally, you have butterflies in your

01:14:41--> 01:14:42

stomach. What do you do to deal with

01:14:42--> 01:14:43

those butterflies?

01:14:43--> 01:14:44

You call a friend,

01:14:45--> 01:14:45

a buddy,

01:14:46--> 01:14:48

call him up, right? Someone who doesn't have

01:14:48--> 01:14:50

a vision, who's just there, always available.

01:14:51--> 01:14:53

No, no, no. And you call someone up

01:14:53--> 01:14:54

you say brother

01:14:55--> 01:14:56

what are you doing? I say I'm doing

01:14:56--> 01:14:57

nothing

01:14:58--> 01:14:59

do you want a free holiday I'll pay

01:14:59--> 01:15:00

for you I'm going to this place come

01:15:00--> 01:15:01

with me he goes so if you're paying

01:15:01--> 01:15:02

why

01:15:03--> 01:15:04

not? So

01:15:06--> 01:15:08

what happens when he says yes? The butterflies

01:15:08--> 01:15:10

go away because now you're traveling together, isn't

01:15:10--> 01:15:11

it? And the prophet

01:15:12--> 01:15:14

told us, don't travel by yourself, travel in

01:15:14--> 01:15:16

pairs, travel in threes, and appoint an amir.

01:15:17--> 01:15:18

So from the guidance of the sharia,

01:15:20--> 01:15:22

the aim Allah doesn't want this person of

01:15:22--> 01:15:25

istiqama to feel any sadness. Allah tells the

01:15:25--> 01:15:27

angels to tell the dying person,

01:15:28--> 01:15:29

hayatidunyaawfilahirah.

01:15:30--> 01:15:32

We were your buddies, and helpers, and protectors

01:15:32--> 01:15:34

in the life of this world, and we

01:15:34--> 01:15:35

are traveling with you to the hereafter.

01:15:37--> 01:15:39

You just didn't know. You're going with your

01:15:39--> 01:15:40

buddies, you're not going alone.

01:15:41--> 01:15:42

And also,

01:15:44--> 01:15:46

in the world that we're taking you from,

01:15:46--> 01:15:49

you used to ask people for things and

01:15:49--> 01:15:50

I never used to give you. Where are

01:15:50--> 01:15:53

you going to? You just desire and Allah

01:15:53--> 01:15:54

will give you, you don't even have to

01:15:54--> 01:15:54

speak.

01:15:55--> 01:15:57

Just desire it in your heart and Allah

01:15:57--> 01:15:58

will give it to you.

01:15:59--> 01:16:01

But to how merciful Allah is, the human

01:16:01--> 01:16:03

being might be at that moment thinking wow

01:16:03--> 01:16:05

a perpetual life of just desiring, what if

01:16:05--> 01:16:07

my desires dry up?

01:16:07--> 01:16:09

What if my desires dry up? Allah

01:16:10--> 01:16:12

calms that fear for you as well. Walakumfiha

01:16:12--> 01:16:15

matat down. If your desires dry up, don't

01:16:15--> 01:16:17

worry, just speak and Allah will give you

01:16:17--> 01:16:17

a game.

01:16:18--> 01:16:20

Talk and Allah will give you again.

01:16:20--> 01:16:23

My brother and sister in Islam, this is

01:16:23--> 01:16:23

the prizes

01:16:25--> 01:16:26

for the people of istaqamah.

01:16:28--> 01:16:28

But guess

01:16:29--> 01:16:29

what? There's

01:16:31--> 01:16:33

more, and I only learned about there being

01:16:33--> 01:16:33

more

01:16:34--> 01:16:35

from the word after

01:16:36--> 01:16:36

this.

01:16:37--> 01:16:40

Allah went into detail angels coming down from

01:16:40--> 01:16:42

Jannah giving you the glad tidings. Don't be

01:16:42--> 01:16:45

afraid. Don't be sad. Allah has given you

01:16:45--> 01:16:47

the Jannah he promised you. We are your

01:16:47--> 01:16:49

buddies when we are traveling with you and

01:16:49--> 01:16:50

you're going to a place where you'll have

01:16:50--> 01:16:52

everything you desire and everything you ask for.

01:16:52--> 01:16:54

Then Allah says nuzula,

01:16:55--> 01:16:56

na ilaha illallah.

01:16:57--> 01:16:59

Honestly, you know, these are verses you need

01:16:59--> 01:17:01

to be sitting on a recliner with Moroccan

01:17:01--> 01:17:01

mint tea,

01:17:02--> 01:17:03

and you read them.

01:17:04--> 01:17:06

Honestly, it's just therapeutic

01:17:06--> 01:17:07

because

01:17:07--> 01:17:09

when I learned the word nuzula, it just

01:17:09--> 01:17:10

knocked me out.

01:17:13--> 01:17:14

You know what nuzul

01:17:14--> 01:17:16

is? Nuzul

01:17:16--> 01:17:19

is what we give someone who's traveled to

01:17:19--> 01:17:22

us from a long long long long

01:17:23--> 01:17:26

origin. They had traveled hours to get to

01:17:26--> 01:17:26

us.

01:17:28--> 01:17:30

They landed in Heathrow not Manchester after that

01:17:30--> 01:17:32

and then had to drive all the way

01:17:32--> 01:17:34

through the m six and all the traffic

01:17:34--> 01:17:35

that we see,

01:17:36--> 01:17:38

and they got to us tired, and they

01:17:38--> 01:17:40

finally got to our door, maybe just over

01:17:40--> 01:17:42

24 hours since they started their journey. We

01:17:42--> 01:17:44

opened the door to welcome them. Do we

01:17:44--> 01:17:46

take them and put them on the dining

01:17:46--> 01:17:47

table

01:17:47--> 01:17:48

straight away,

01:17:48--> 01:17:50

or do we take them and sit them

01:17:50--> 01:17:52

in our lounge first, and we give them

01:17:52--> 01:17:53

some tea,

01:17:54--> 01:17:54

some water,

01:17:55--> 01:17:56

some coffee,

01:17:56--> 01:17:57

some dates,

01:17:57--> 01:17:58

some biscuits,

01:17:58--> 01:18:01

some sweets, depending on your culture? What do

01:18:01--> 01:18:01

you do?

01:18:02--> 01:18:03

You consider bad manners who just take them

01:18:03--> 01:18:05

and put them on the on the banquet

01:18:05--> 01:18:08

table, let them catch their breath, freshen up,

01:18:08--> 01:18:09

right?

01:18:09--> 01:18:10

This is nuzul.

01:18:11--> 01:18:13

Nuzul refers to the welcoming,

01:18:13--> 01:18:14

the starter.

01:18:17--> 01:18:19

Allah is saying all these gifts we prepared

01:18:19--> 01:18:22

for the people of Istikamah when they die,

01:18:22--> 01:18:23

this is just the starter.

01:18:24--> 01:18:25

This is the nuzur.

01:18:26--> 01:18:28

What is the actual prize? Yeah. Allah, Allah

01:18:28--> 01:18:31

doesn't tell us. Allah says, I've told you

01:18:31--> 01:18:33

how good the starter is. You can go

01:18:33--> 01:18:34

imagine how great

01:18:34--> 01:18:36

the main prize is for the people of

01:18:36--> 01:18:36

Istikam.

01:18:38--> 01:18:39

Now as we sit here and go into

01:18:39--> 01:18:41

this 23rd night, and inshallah,

01:18:42--> 01:18:43

after this ayam, may it be laylatulqatr.

01:18:44--> 01:18:46

After we sat and learned this ayah together,

01:18:46--> 01:18:48

how what an honor it is that in

01:18:48--> 01:18:50

the month of our Quran, and in one

01:18:50--> 01:18:52

of the nights that the Quran was revealed,

01:18:52--> 01:18:54

we can celebrate the Quran with this verse

01:18:54--> 01:18:54

in Surah Fussilat.

01:18:57--> 01:18:58

If it's if it's labeled to Qadr, may

01:18:58--> 01:18:59

Allah make us some those who witness it,

01:18:59--> 01:19:00

Ameen.

01:19:02--> 01:19:03

As we sit and study this verse, and

01:19:03--> 01:19:05

you have, I'm sure this thought in your

01:19:05--> 01:19:07

mind, I had this thought as well.

01:19:07--> 01:19:10

Who can die this death, You Allah? Subhanallah.

01:19:11--> 01:19:13

Hey Allah, can I die this death? This

01:19:13--> 01:19:14

death has to be the death of the

01:19:14--> 01:19:16

Ambia alaihi musalat wa salam.

01:19:17--> 01:19:18

That this death

01:19:19--> 01:19:20

has to be the death of the Ambiya

01:19:20--> 01:19:23

alihmus salatwala. I don't think I could die

01:19:23--> 01:19:24

this death, You Allah.

01:19:24--> 01:19:26

You Allah, give me a sign. Teach me,

01:19:26--> 01:19:27

You Allah.

01:19:27--> 01:19:29

Can I die this death?

01:19:29--> 01:19:31

And the wrong and short, my dear brother

01:19:31--> 01:19:33

and sister in Islam, in the very same

01:19:33--> 01:19:35

verse, Allah teaches us that we can die

01:19:35--> 01:19:36

this death.

01:19:36--> 01:19:38

You know where I found it in?

01:19:38--> 01:19:39

In the same verse.

01:19:40--> 01:19:42

In the words after Nuzul, what does Allah

01:19:42--> 01:19:43

say? Nuzulahamin

01:19:48--> 01:19:50

A welcoming, Allah could have said, a welcoming

01:19:50--> 01:19:53

from the Lord of the worlds. A welcoming

01:19:53--> 01:19:55

from the all wise.

01:19:55--> 01:19:56

A welcoming

01:19:56--> 01:19:58

from the one who is upon all able.

01:19:58--> 01:20:00

But Allah doesn't say this. He says a

01:20:00--> 01:20:03

welcoming from the most forgiving, the most merciful.

01:20:04--> 01:20:05

Subhanallah.

01:20:06--> 01:20:08

Why are you Allah the most forgiving, the

01:20:08--> 01:20:10

most merciful? To teach you and me, the

01:20:10--> 01:20:12

read of the Quran, that the people who

01:20:12--> 01:20:14

died this death were people like us.

01:20:15--> 01:20:16

We had good days, and when we had

01:20:16--> 01:20:19

good days, we thanked Allah for them. And

01:20:19--> 01:20:20

then we had bad days, and when we

01:20:20--> 01:20:22

had bad days we turned to Allah and

01:20:22--> 01:20:23

we said, you Allah forgive us for the

01:20:23--> 01:20:24

bad day that we've had and help us

01:20:24--> 01:20:25

tomorrow, you Allah.

01:20:27--> 01:20:28

This is Istikuma

01:20:28--> 01:20:31

that you try your best, but when you

01:20:31--> 01:20:32

sleep, you don't sleep like you had a

01:20:32--> 01:20:33

good day.

01:20:33--> 01:20:35

You make sure before you sleep, you turn

01:20:35--> 01:20:37

to Allah and you engage him sincerely

01:20:37--> 01:20:39

and you show Allah that you know you

01:20:39--> 01:20:40

had a bad day with him

01:20:41--> 01:20:43

with regards to his laws, with regards to

01:20:43--> 01:20:46

his mission, with regards to his instruction, and

01:20:46--> 01:20:48

you seek forgiveness, but you don't go to

01:20:48--> 01:20:50

sleep in a state of loss and depression.

01:20:50--> 01:20:53

You seek forgiveness and sleep with hope that

01:20:53--> 01:20:55

tomorrow, insha Allah, I will chase the ideals

01:20:55--> 01:20:57

that Allah has revealed in a better way,

01:20:57--> 01:20:59

insha Allah. This is the way of Istikamah,

01:20:59--> 01:21:01

my dear brothers and sisters in Islam, and

01:21:01--> 01:21:03

this is the rewards for the people of

01:21:03--> 01:21:03

Istikamah.

01:21:04--> 01:21:07

Every day, a lifelong worth of effort, but

01:21:07--> 01:21:08

the reward

01:21:08--> 01:21:10

is not proportionate to the effort.

01:21:10--> 01:21:13

It's greater than the effort. May Allah subhanahu

01:21:13--> 01:21:14

wa ta'ala make us from the people of

01:21:14--> 01:21:16

Istikamah and the people of Surah Fussilat and

01:21:16--> 01:21:19

Surah Ghafir and Surah Zumar. The Zumar, the

01:21:19--> 01:21:21

groups that will be driven to Jannah.

01:21:22--> 01:21:25

Jannah driven with the letter wow, aameen, You

01:21:25--> 01:21:25

Rabbilahalameen.

01:21:26--> 01:21:27

My dear brothers and sisters in Islam, may

01:21:28--> 01:21:30

Allah forgive our past, inspire our futures, reward

01:21:30--> 01:21:32

you all for your patience sitting. Abullahi, I

01:21:32--> 01:21:33

knew I know we went longer because the

01:21:33--> 01:21:34

tafsir,

01:21:34--> 01:21:37

happened after a fundraiser as well, but it's

01:21:37--> 01:21:40

all good. These are moments of Allah on

01:21:40--> 01:21:42

earth and moments with Allah on earth.

01:21:45--> 01:21:46

May Allah bring these moments to us in

01:21:46--> 01:21:48

a recurring matter, that perhaps one day we

01:21:48--> 01:21:50

will meet in Jannah, and we will say,

01:21:50--> 01:21:53

masha Allah, brother, Allahu Akbar, you made it,

01:21:53--> 01:21:55

we made it, Masha'allah.

01:21:55--> 01:21:57

What brought you here? And he might say,

01:21:57--> 01:21:59

You know what, subhanAllah, it was that one

01:21:59--> 01:22:01

sitting in the dunya, 23rd night of Ramadan.

01:22:02--> 01:22:04

14:45 after the hijrah of the prophet sallallahu

01:22:04--> 01:22:06

alaihi wasallam. We learned from the Quran, and

01:22:06--> 01:22:09

the barakah of that session changed my life,

01:22:09--> 01:22:11

changed our lives, and Allah brought us together

01:22:11--> 01:22:14

maybe, and it will absolutely be worth it.

01:22:14--> 01:22:14

May Allah

01:22:15--> 01:22:18

grant us latest al Qadr, accept our Ramadan.

01:22:18--> 01:22:19

Make us from the family of Al Quran.

01:22:19--> 01:22:20

Allah.

01:22:19--> 01:22:20

Allah.
